Video: A Conversation w/ Brother Ali Pt. 1 & 2
Ali talks to HigherPlaneTV while in Columbus, OH for the Fresh Air Tour.
During the Columbus stop of the Fresh Air tour, we ran in to Ryhmesayers MC Brother Ali. Ali is, no doubt, one of the most gifted MCs in hip-hop, but he is also a man of great principles and character.
What started as a simple exchange of respect led to an honest discussion about Islamic principles and fulfilling one’s destiny in life. Often regarded as a taboo subject, religious principles are a guiding force behind the Minneapolis legend.
As you can see from our lack of equipment, we were not anticipating taping this conversation, but did the best we could to get this man’s wise words recorded. The conversation was truly a breath of fresh air.
Much respect to Brother Ali not only for his candor, but for understanding how to articulate his message so well. This is the first of four parts of our conversation.
Part 2 after the jump.

I’m going to let it be known that The Comments Section Mixtape Series is already off to a good start. One person already submitted a complete song, plus other cats have volunteered some serious skills.
If you’re interested, let me know what you do and where I can hear/see your work if possible. We need producers, rappers, graphic artists–anything you think you can do. I’m at freshhuxtable at gmail.

…If by “one of the most gifted emcees in hip hop” you mean “boring” and outdated, then by god you are right!
score one point for those still trying to pass this nonsense off as ‘great hip hop’.
go get a job as a substitute teacher at your old high school already.
