No one else was able to fill the void. Nas had his own lane. Jay was next after big regardless but with big gone the natural course was that jay fill in. and dame’s greedy ass took full advantage of the opportunity. You had major players involved with jay’s ascent from the beginning, def jam leyor and kevin, the roc dame and irv, etc. it was inevitable. imo.
