^one of the most painful truths I have to deal with. Eventhough I side with Beenie in this debate, I can also understand Jay’s perspective. It’s pretty fuckin hard to watch the cats you grew up with fall to the wayside in form or another as life goes on. It really fucking sucks to log onto facebook and see new pics of your best friend since grade school acting like he’s still in junior high. Except he’s not acting. This has become everyday life for him. Weed, bitches, booze, new gear, no gas, no job, no liscence, no electricity & two kids. And the worst part is that he’s not the only one that I personally know. ^yeah, I totally agree with the seasons thing. I guess the problem is that I hold a little bit of guilt for whatever reason. The part that disgusts me is that where I’m at in life, I just can’t hang around this cat, but he can’t even see this. Idk it’s like I helped to create a monster and then bailed on him for a few years to get my life together. When I came back around I had changed, but he didn’t. Like I said, I don’t think I’ll ever feel anger for dude, but certainly feel guilty for having to turn my back on him and walk away from the metaphorical burning building.

I have not been immersed in everything NBA related for the past decade like I was the decade prior. I used to actually sit through entire regular season games. Now I just catch sportcenter once or twice a week and try to watch a couple of finals games.

The only person to get rings with AND without Jordan is Rodman, though several of Jordans teamates definitely tried. The NBA needs to re-format the league and such. Although it’s not easy, they need to cut down on the number of games, 82 games is too much. Your team can lose 20 straight AND still have the opportunity to end up over .500 or at least .500. It’s stupid. They also need to get away the East vs. West final system, it should be the two best teams out the whole league, not one from each side. It’s messed up. The playoffs should be seeded for the best 16 teams in the league, not 8 from each also. I don’t care if it’s gonna be 15 teams from the West and 1 from the East, or whatever.. it would make for more interesting basketball… cause right now the NBA is too predictable.
The dunk contest also needs majorly revamped or done away with. Word to Nate doing dunks that had all been done before during last nights conest. Mad creative…

The NBA probably wont reduce the number of games because of the amount of money that not only they make but ESPN and other TV networks. NBA broadband is a big money maker as well because some people want to watch every game everyday. There’s too much money to be made. They need all the story lines and drama plus the statistical aspect of the game too. Another reason they wont reduce the game amount is because of the cyclical nature of the sports world. As one ends another begins as to continue the great distraction.
As far as all-star weekend…they could throw horse in there however that could take a long time to complete. Dunking is limited. It all depends on the athlete hence Lebron always being begged to compete. Anything else is probably going to be shot down because of injury concerns. With that being said we just have to keep it moving.

The nba need to eliminate like 6 teams with the lowest attendance rate. That way we could have more team with 2 superstars. Look at melo nigga gotta do it all on his own.

The problem with the dunk contest is I can’t imagine somebody doing a dunk that impressed me cause I saw it all before.

Co-sign. There’s only so much an athlete, regardless of how talented they are, can do. Unless the NBA wants to add trampolines and shit, I don’t see many “New” dunks are going to happen

^Bullshit. Having 2+ superstars doesn’t make a team automatically better (word to Melo and A.I). Getting rid of teams wouldn’t work either. Besides Melo ain’t doing it on his own; the nuggets were getting by quite fine while he was injured.

I really think the NBA needs to mix up the conferences from east and west to american and national or something. Therefore they prolly have to reduce the number if games, but who gives a fuck about a pacers vs. Bucks anyway?

The league needs to find a way to enforce fundamentals and basics. Not saying go overboard, but some type of balance is needed. It’s like everybody wants to be like Mike – even benchwarmers. But there’s s reason that there was only one Mike. The league has shifted too far in this direction. And yes, I blame Jordan’s success. He filled seats like no one before. Can’t blame the league for catering towards this type of business model – bottom line, right? Kind of like the way the NFL cateres to QB’s. Anyhow, balance in roundball is needed. As much as it kills me to say it, an emphasis needs to be put on the way the 90′s era Jazz and Spurs played (and I’ll throw Duke in there for good measure). I really feel that if this were to happen, then the overall quality of gameplay would evolve and increase dramatically. Just my opinion.

^hey jitbag, you totally missed the point. Trust me, I despised watching those teams more than anybody else. But whereas that style of play is one extreme, today’s version of basketball is the absolute other extreme. When things lean too much towards either extreme, the overall quality of the game suffers.
