Video: Stussy’s J Dilla Documentary (Part 1)
Stussy produced a three part documentary series about J Dilla‘s life in Los Angeles that they’ll be releasing every week. They just threw up part 1 of the documentary on their site, along with the accompanying pictures to go along with it.

On Saturday, they’ll be celebrating “Dilla Day” with the release of the limited edition J Dilla x Stussy x Stones Throw t-shirt that features Raph Rashid’s classic photo of J Dilla working on his MPC3000 from his book Behind The Beat. They will be holding special “Dilla Day” events at some of their North American stores for the release.
They’re releasing part 2 (“Detroit to Los Angeles”) on next Wednesday and then part 3 (“Donuts”) on the Wednesday after that.

We need release dates man.
Release dates = progress/marketing = fans interested
Keep giving us the free samples (mixtapes), which dulls our interest in the actual project, as commenters compare the free material to the retail material ad nauseum.
Then serve a potent crack rock (album), which gets leaked on line early, torn apart by pseudo music critics and commenters, and doesn’t sell at ALL.

RIP J Dilla! Gone but not forgotten! It’s important that the younger generation of fans and artist know who he is and can enjoy his brilliant artistry like the rest of us.
