Court Dunn grabs Emilio Rojas for the latest installment of him and ThisisBooBoo’s “This Is Hip-Hop” video series.

Also, late last year Emilio linked with DJ RTC from Ruby Hornet and Scheme and Astonish of Chi-town’s Molemen for one of their Closed Sessions. Check out the resulting track below.

Says RTC:

“My partner at Rubyhornet, Virgil, played a really big role in getting Emilio Rojas into a Closed Session. He’s really championed Emilio’s music, and opened my eyes to his talents after hearing Emilio’s Recession Proof mixtape. When we brought him into Chicago during the summer it was before The Natural came out, and we really want to be ahead of the curve and introduce Emilio to Chicago. So, before he came and during his stay some cats were like, ‘who is Emilio Rojas’? But since The Natural came out, it’s changed to people telling us, ‘yo, that Emilio Rojas cat is nice… You need to bring him out and do a Closed Session with him.’ Well, we already got it covered, as he linked with Scheme and Astonish of the legendary Molemen Crew and put together “Helluva Year” a really smooth and conceptual track about the day to day of chasing a dream. I think anyone can relate, and it sounds dope to boot.”

Says Emilio:

“Closed Sessions was THAT SHIT. I got to meet and build with some really great talent and eat some good ass nachos (haha). The record turned out crazy and Chicago is a great place to be. Ruby Hornet is putting together great collaborations, bringing artists together in person the way it should be done – none of that email back and forth shit.”
