the embrace of drake into the hip-hop community is probably one of the strongest indications of the artistic and aesthetical decay that is prominent in the genre today.
^that’s what the jazz niggas said about hiphop. it’s too easy to say our shit is better than your shit. you need more analysis…

When the fuck did it become cool to dress like a fucking figure skater? Can somebody answer that shit?! I see all these commercials for asthma & copd(sp?). Well no shit! Fucking kids can barely breath in these tight fucking clothes. Hurts me to breath just lookin at em. WTF?! How you gonna make denim look like spandex, huh?!?!

“jazz niggass said about hip-hop” ? i have no idea what the point of that statement is. As far as i know jazz has not commercially and blatantly embraced hip-hop in a way in which it has assimilated into the genre and allowed for jazz to lose its identity. it’s not as if M.O.P will be performing at the blue note next week after they open up for ron carter at bird land. You dig? And im not saying “our shit is better.” What im saying is drake-ish figures are pop stars (another genre) that have become part of hip-hop and are passing off as represenations of the genre and of mcs. The bru is not that different than mark wahlberg rhyming in new kids on the block–except that he gota co-sign from weezy and bunch of other mainstream artists.

Clinton Portis cameo? Niceee. Wale still tight with a $7 video budget. DMV stand up.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:53 pm
What cois said.
And @hl, as far as new cats go, yeah there’s a couple nice ones, but they lack something. It’s like they don’t have that FIRE in their spirit. Like it’s one thing to be clever and witty or whatever, but you gotta have some type of fire or intensity or energy to really make your shit believable. These kids really lack that element. It’s all punchlines these days – no emotion.
February 8th, 2010 at 10:32 pm
People gotta move forward, we can’t listen to 2Pac, Biggie, Big L and Big Pun forever.. especially when none of those cats making new music…
