Rick Ross ft. Lil Wayne & Birdman – Veteran’s Day (prod. J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League)
What initially leaked last night as “Maybach Music 3″ is actually entitled “Veteran’s Day” and it’s off Rick Ross’ upcoming Teflon Don.

“I’m a fat motherfucker” (c) Rick Ross
Shouts to Ross for being able to succinctly define himself. A lot of people can’t do that.

^I never watched the Wire. I seen like half of one episode in my lifetime. The Corner on the other hand was dope. Dude from “Fresh” played his part and the beef with the DC niggas was accurate. Nothin’ better than seeing their downfall, lol.
What’s your email fam?

Ever since he apparently got a ghostwriter or something I can’t help but like him.
He always had that good fatass voice that sounds good over dense beats, he just really didn’t know how to rap.
It’s like the opposite of Jeezy, who’s also getting better at rapping but putting out worse songs IMO. I’m not really looking foreword to TM103 since so far it sounds like he’s gonna try to make minor changes to his sound and is gonna disappoint.

That’s another reason why I’m glad the demise of the major label is happening slowly but surely. It’s a shame what a lot of brothas and sistas had to do just to see some record sales. A lot of ritualistic stuff goes on that sometimes the artists don’t even realize until it’s too late. Then many wonder how someone with that amount of money could be mentally unstable or go crazy.
That’s why I try my hardest to support independent artists if I dig their music. I’ll buy from iTunes, BestBuy, mom-and-pop or whatever distribution outlet they choose. Can you imagine the shit they probably wanted Joe Budden to do to sell records at Def Jam? Once Kev Liles left he had no protection or anyone to stand up for him.

About the corner, I didn’t watch it again til last night since we was all snowed in, but it was so much realness in that mini series that I have to co-sign the corner, the wire was really really good, but the corner was something else. The D.C beef, lil dude from the wire ready to go to hickey and not to boys village, (n) etc, shit had me hooked, i’ve been watching it since 5am this morning.
LF: I wanted fran *the female addict* to clean her self up so bad, evnetually she did, but I was rooting for her the whole series, and the “real fran” i’m not sure, but I know I met her in real life, lol. It was too real to compare to the wire, imo

budden is in that fraternity as well though…he’s always throwing up the gang signs..shit even mikkey halsted throws it up

Yeah, it was the little things that you just mentioned that made me more of a fan of The Corner because more locals could relate, IMO. The Wire was highly publicized. Not taking away from it, but I knew that once it hit the HBO market it was gonna be more of a novelty. Speaking of Hickey, didn’t they shut that down? My manz from round the way, his father was 2nd in command of the juvenile system in Bmore. Said he heard/seen mad stuff. I think they just let them boys go with nowhere else to go for real.
Yo, Fran played the hell outta that fiend. I forget her real name but she sexy as shit.

Nah. Budden got damn near blackballed. If that beef with him and Jay kept going he wouldn’t even have an Amalgam deal.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:21 pm
landlord and D Billz,
The record labels’ influence on the type of music that gets put out and the type of music that gets popular is VASTLY OVERRATED. There is no label strong enough to actually IMPOSE what it wants or force artists to go through a bunch of things they weren’t already willing to do deep down inside for the fame.
Maybe I’m misconstruing what you guys are talking about.
