Niggas are quick to forget that just because someone doesn’t have a drawl that there not from the south. smh

All the Above was basura. Maino raps like a middle school kid. I know more names of the people he punched than his songs.
Oh and speaking of Drama that Oj the Juiceman mixtape cover artist could’ve at least done something for this Jeezy cover. Damn that Orange cover was wasted on a bullshit artist.

Who said rap has to sound one way?
^^^^^^^^^^
nobody has a problem with them carving their own lane…the problem is that in every fascist of what made hiphop great…they suck at… rhyming, storytelling, originality…style …there are southern artist who this doesnt apply to (Elec, JCole etc) …but a vast majority of mainstream southern arent very good any of these things…

Nobody’s playing semantics. You just havent made your point yet.
But if We look at the total number of artist that come out, we can see that they are selling more, and also New Artist.
^^
What numbers are you looking at? What new artists? I can tell you’re stuck (ll), cause you’re just typing vague nonsense now. Just admit you were talking overgeneralized bullshit like normal instead of holding on to the idea that you were making a legitimate or even truthful point and everythings cool.
______________________________________________________________
You never made your point, and I said you name 2 other people from a 2 party list…You just didnt want to hear that statement. You typed Jadakiss and Fab, and that was it. From 2 other rappers…then claimed they sold more than Ross and was proved wrong….other than Maino you’re theory holds dead in the water…and you brought up Fab and Jada to make your point but what Major artist in the South dropped in 2009?

Dude, you’re missing your own point. My position is not that northern rappers are selling alot of records, or that they’re even selling more than Southern rappers in any signifigant way. I’m not trying to prove anything.
You made the statement that Southern rappers are selling more right now. You have no numbers and no examples. You’re only ones were Ross and Plies (who sold roughly the same as their northern peers, and less than previous efforts), and Boosie, the Stanky Leg cats, and another group, none of whom jack shit.
So if you’re point is that the South is outselling other regions, I’ll ask one more time: WHO???

Yall just dont get it. Southern rap culture is so much more about feeling. We gotta feel the vibe you givin off in your music whether its your flow that brings it or the beat. Alot of the east coast music doesn’t resinate with us bcuz the over usage of wordplay is too much to think about, or the shit just comes off too boring. In the east yall wanna nod ya heads more, whereas in the south we wanna bounce and lean and get crunk. Now, that being said, ppl in the south dont always recognize dope lyrics when they hear them AND we are VERY byist to our music. As is the east coast, leading to debates like this lol

^Why, because Jay was sure that he was going to sell alot of albums. I’m sure he isn’t dumb enough to think that.
Or because there was a bidding war between labels interested him. Strike two.
Would you give a signing bonus to some little knucklehead who waits out in the rain by your studio on some stalker shit just to get a glimpse of you? HELL NO. You know that wet puppy-faced little idiot would pay you to be on your label, so you rape him (financially, of course)

JCole has potential but calm down…
he’s not even up to Charles Hamilton’s level yet …
^^^^^

Trap Or Die II, huh ? That’s good news.
Jeezy makes solid albums. Great pieces of work. As far as albums go, few people really does that nowadays. Few people. Just a few.
Staying on that subject, J. Cole also came up with really solid work, but on a Mixtape. That Mixtape can top so many fuckin’ ’09 albums …
So wachout for what that kid can do now wit’ an album in ’10. It’ll make Drake look bad. I mean, not really. Most Drake fans (no shots at the conscient ones) are too fuckin’ blind to even notice.
February 3rd, 2010 at 3:29 pm
probably so are the Jonas Bros and Taylor Swift… so what though
^^
That was a boosie quote. And you’re right, it doesnt matter. Well, it wouldnt matter, but the thing is, its not even true.

^you think Jay would pay his own artist for a feature…or give some unproven kid a big signing bonus in today’s record sales climate?
no to both.
the only money J. Cole has made in the music industry is sucking off rappers backstage for nickels
–Im sure he got a signing bonus
^
Exactly. i know he aint get a drake deal, but j.cole aint a snap dance rapper, and didnt sign his life away just so he could rap. He seems smart about his
February 3rd, 2010 at 3:30 pm
i thought Jeezy bitchslap the shit outta Drama…don’t they got “beef” or something
^
Some fight happended with an award show with their entourage (no vinny chase) but they didnt really have beef..and everybody wants Drama for a tape so its really a win win

bottom line
most NY or Northern mcs try to make music to advance the culture…
most southern rappers make music that embarrasses and sets back the culture… and embarrasses people of african descent period …
there’s exceptions for each region, but the facts are clear enough to make this observation…

You really think J Cole negotiated with Jay-Z? Nope. What leverage did he have to do such a thing (nh)? He didn’t have a buzz in the street.

Knowing that they possess the ability to sell right now and in the future.
^^
So you’re admitting now that your original statement was based on cojecture, as opposed to facts??
Cool. Checkmate.
________________________________________________________________
Lol…I notice when you say checkmate, you lose an argument and you’ve lost quite a few to me…Just one more notch on the belt. The fact that you are aggy, shows a side of you like a female. The collateral of the south is at a much higher rate than any region. You focused in on the word “currently” to make a narrow point that doesn’t hold water, when Artist were locked up and had gone through situations, knowing full well those artist possess the ability to outsell the artist you named. If they all dropped today you and I know who would sell more. those are just facts.

snoop was not ever a lyricist. not now not never. he was voice and rhyme curvature. and he had gansta realness on lock when he came out. but niggas wasnt pressing rewind to see what he said. they were listenin to HOW he said it.
Jeezy got that same prowess (n) with style. his punchlines are body blows (n).

–JCole isnt just going to sign over to a label for no money, the fact that RN got to JCole first means he got a little something to sweeten the deal.
