Uncensored: Lil Wayne, Eminem & Drake – Drop The World + Forever
They must have told these guys in advance that if they swear, they’ll be censored… because they barely mentioned any curse words. That whole part at the beginning where they censor Lil Wayne… he was already censoring himself, so why was there 5 seconds of dead air on the broadcast. Plus there was a time lapse between the time they taped it, and the time we saw it – they could have easily gone back to fix it. These guys only aired one rap award and it was the safest one, of course didn’t give a fuck about this.
Props to Mel for the rip.
Someone tell Taylor Swift to sit her ass down.

i’m waiting for drake to fart so that NahRight can drop it and sticky it for the whole day (c) michael jackson’s RIP
And the crazy thing is, people didn’t think Drake could do it. Like, would he risk it all and let it rip? Well, here it is. Directed by Kanye West. Special props to my brother Oliver at octobersown for the footage. It’s like it was only yesterday Drake was wheeling around Degrassi – who would have thought that he’d be blessing us like this a few short years later. Canada stand up…eh?

Taylor Swift should thank Kanye West in her acceptance speech. I guess she talented in her country music kinda way (I admit I’ve never listened to her music) but all this extra attention and love is still trickle down effect from the MTV thing.

Here’s my deal with the Grammys blatant disrespect for hip-hop and anything Urban in general. 1st, they cut off The-Dream but let the country dudes have their time. Okay, whatever. Nation said it when he noted that they pushed it to the last performance, not as a headliner, but as an aftershowesque type deal. The censoring was abysmal and butchered a pretty sick performance that obviously got everybody there psyched to a point. The most energy all night came from that and most everyone took to the internet to bitch about Taylor Swift winning album of the year and the lack of recognition and respect towards hip-hop. Check your twitter feeds and the blogs, there’s quite a lot of dissenting feelings towards the Academy. I just feel they fucked this up royally especially after a year when the Hip-Hop aspect saved the Grammys and made them phenomenal: See: Dead and Gone, Swagger Like Us, and Tie My Hands performances. It’s just unfortunate that what people really care about concerning the music industry is not reflected by those that control the structure of moments like these.
