yo Eng, i was just thinking the other day… i finally understand your BIG stannery

i think Nasir is the best writer to ever touch a mic, but BIG really is KING.

Big ain’t the king. The F’d up part is that his style may have led us to where we are.

His raps were so basic that everybody thought they could rap.

Puffy, Mase. No more need for rappers with real talent.

Once Puffy gets cosigned. Then drops a platinum record with no talent whatsoever. Well. The rest may be history.

It’s not that it’s Big’s fault. But he slowed the whole rap game down.

Big’s rhymes waeresimple and brilliant. Even a retard could get it. The game ran with it and made it simple and stupid.

It used to be a time where you could not repeat your favorite rappers rhyme’s. That was lost. See Nas, Rakim, Jay Electronica.

Besides that. He was no where near the best that did it.

  91. kevfrescura de talco Says:

You wanna dominate a show on the top rated major network in the country? Sell more records.

They didn’t want a “Kanye” moment this year.

Congrats to dream for winning such a big award as a writer.

Ye’s now got 14 grammys , tied for 9th most of ALL TIME.

Lets get em this year guys, Yeezy and Drake need to sell through the roof

  138. b-ease Says:

Taylor’s victory had more to do with the Grammys attempting to skew younger than anything. They’ve lost alot of rating and caught a shitload of flack the past couple years for giving album of the years to Steely Dan, Ray Charles etc, as opposed to more popular better selling artists. The closing performance with Drake and them, plus her win was a way to to do this.

It also worked as an “f-you” to Kanye. Two birds, one stone.

Former NBA star Jayson Williams was reportedly recently robbed for more than $150,000 in sports souvenirs and a personal handwritten lyric sheet by the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

Details on what he was robbed for have landed online.
Jayson Williams is allegedly the victim of a crime — for a change — after a report says his home was broken into and a slew of sports memorabilia, electronics and jewelry were stolen. Among the items allegedly stolen from Williams’ South Carolina home, were were a pair of Tiger Woods’ shoes autographed by Woods himself, shorts signed by basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain, and a handwritten lyric sheet by rapper Tupac Shakur. (TMZ)
The baller’s ex-wife has also confirmed the robbery took place.
“Unfortunately, this just another episode within my surreal reality, but I’m a fighter.” Tanya Young-Williams went public with the theft on her Facebook page, though it’s unclear when in the last two weeks the heist occurred. The burglar also scored four plasma-screen TVs and jewelry, including a diamondBreitling watch and a gold Rolex. “I want my memorabilia back because they mean more to me than what they represent,” the ex-Net’s wife, Tanya Young-Williams, told The Post. (New York Post) A reward is reportedly being offered in exchange for the items being returned.

Young-Williams is offering a $5,000 reward for the return of the items. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that it responded to a burglary at Williams’ home, but declined to say if any suspect had been identified. “The sheriff’s office is investigating a burglary that was reported at that residence,” said Capt. Allen Horton. “It is an active investigation.” (NY Post)

  344. Troyvul Says:

Law Abiding Citizen was dope and Food Inc, I havent finished yet, but Damn…Free range chickens may have to approach my radar one day

  345. D_Block_4_Life Says:

    MOTM > BP3
    ^
I forget it’s Joe88 I’m debating with sometimes but i appreciate when you make statements like this to remind me who I’m debating with…

  346. Joe 88 Says:

Jay said he gonna try something new for his next LP,

^He failed for even thinking about making another album. Just ride your old ass is the sunset already.

The rap game wont except a new comer coming in the game at his age, why would they wanna hear from a nigga that age besides the fact that he’s Jay-Z?

  347. landlord Says:

“Encore” is a fucking masterpiece yo… i had forgot Camel killt that so thoroghly … he’s the only one that could have handled that beat in that manner …

  348. Johnathan Osterman Says:

    MOTM > BP3

    ^^

I know alotta people that would cosign this…I dont really listen to either of them to be honest…

  349. The Shot Clock Says:

if kanye tried all that tight pants 808 shit in 96 he woulda been laughed out of hiphop.

    ^

he came in the game dressed like Carlton and all the Roc niggas tolerated him cos of his talent, so he been on that other shit.

    —–

but no one can argue that jay is not one of the most versatile emcees to ever touch the mic. his range of songs and beats is testament to his “artistry”. listen to reasonable doubt, then listen to volume 3 then listen to black album then listen to bp3. very wide variety and the evolution was so subtle niggas might not have caught it…

    ^

nigga been around for like 2 decades, of course he’s changed a lil, I aint sayin he aint changed at all. But compared to how Ye has grown, Jigga aint even in his league as far as pushing boundaries and the art form.

it aint even close, and thats why i said that Ye has always been and will always be a purer artist.

and when it’s all said and done, Ye will go down as a bigger legend than Jigga. *straight face*

  350. G7 Says:

    >>BP3 aint wack, its just not that great & has a real short lifespan imo…like, REALLY short

^probably cuz Jay’s subject matter has gotten tiresome. he’s just repeating what he’s said on his last 3 albums before.

    i’m the greatest- check
    everyone hates me- check
    accomplishments- check
    current lifestyle- check

when it comes to rapping bout self Jay is probably the GOAT. but he needs to start addressing some other topics or issues going on outside himself.

  351. The Shot Clock Says:

    MOTM > BP3

    ^

    by a landslide

  352. 456 Says:

me and wifey BOTH fell asleep IN THE THEATER seeing American Ganster … still LMAO @ RZA’s horrible scenes with Russell Crowe… Denzel’s worst flick ever

^co-sign. even denzel couldn’t save that borin-ass movie.

  353. Joe 88 Says:

So MOTM isnt better than BP3? FOH.

So “Day N’ Nite” isnt better than every single on BP3?

Seriously, I wouldn’t back a cd this much (and this weird) if I didn’t feel it was dope, Kid Cudi cd is fucking dope, and i’ve been saying that BEFORE BP3 came out, you know thid D_Block. But I respect you defending BP3, I do the same for AG. lol

  354. landlord Says:

MOTM aint better than no album by nobody… thats one of the worst projects i ever downloaded by anyone in any art form… i seriously cant believe that some of you cosign that shit … im looking sideways at anyone who likes that LP…

  355. Shooter Says:

Streets Disciple… and everyone else hates it …
    ^^^

lol Streets Disciples album cover >

this dudes straight face wearing a crucifix to the last supper

  356. D_Block_4_Life Says:

BA and BP1 are my 2 favorite Jay albums and they are interchangeable at times…

  357. Joe 88 Says:

*Listens to Kid Cudi “In my dreams “Cudder’s Anthem”*

  358. D_Block_4_Life Says:

It’s not about defending BP3, it’s more about not insulting people that actually listen to music…that’s insulting to me as a listener to say it’s better than any album that came out last year…Like you do know i listen to music right?

  359. landlord Says:

    Vol 2
    Vol 3
    Dynasty2000RocLaFamilia

  361. Chief Ali AKA The One Who Stay Building Says:

    BP3 was assjuice deluxe, seriously

this nigga’s flow was super clumsy on Empire State of Mind, the best part of Off That was the Drake hook, and As Real As It Gets sounds like Jeezy did him a favor as it should’ve been on TM103

If Thank You wasn’t on BP3 i prolly would’ve been deleted that shit

  362. D_Block_4_Life Says:

… no MC has ever put 6 out straight great lps in a row like this… not even close …

  363. Joe 88 Says:

  369. Johnathan Osterman Says:

I dont even think anyone else has released an album every year like Jay…He shoulda kept doing that, cos taking a break & coming back with heat is alot harder to do…

word to Nas & current Jay

  370. landlord Says:

    Chief Ali says

    ——

i been saying that… whats that sing-song shit?… he aint used to do that…. let the kids do that shit …

  371. Shooter Says:

Man on the Moons biggest flaw by far is the Kindergarten level lyricism other than that its dope

  372. D_Block_4_Life Says:

Is that he let more than 5 people hear it…

  373. Joe 88 Says:

Lyricism shouldn’t take away from a album if he’s getting his point across, which he did perfectly did with MOTM. Only in rap………………………….
