Killah Season sold less that Purple Haze because it didnt have a proper single or the backing of a major label. Simple as that.

True, Girls was awful, but to add, another reason for Purple Haze’s relative success was that it was still riding the wave of Dipset’s moment in the hiphop sun, that buzz on that crew had started dissipate by the time Killah Season dropped. But I specified “proper” single, the edited version “Touch It…” just didnt sound as cool. They needed a better look for mainstream radio if that album was going to sell.
