i’m inclined to agree w/this statement only because cats in the hood refuse to think he has any semblance to drake knowing that he has pretty much the same talent pitch. it’s a plus he’s a producer too tho.

  11. digital scales Says:

Jay reacted a little funny to that Illuminati pitch

  12. Boos Bigelow Says:

Jay cosign gonna make all the jay electronica lovers not like him in a couple years.

Soon as the average person likes his music, they’ll move on to the next.

  13. Ant Says:

is the same Rhymefest that dismantled Marshall in a rap battle …once upon a time ago….it can’t be….this ninja is too average….that battle must have been “fixed” just to make sure the white man loses.

  18. Green Pope Says:

    Matter fact…. Fuck rhymefest.

    His existence is digusting.

Blu is dope but i think when its all said and done he’ll have one of the best catalogs however i look at him as this generation Common Sense…he’ll be respected by every fan/MC but will never be looked as “one of the greatest to ever do it” …If Blu continues to put out the dope music 10-15 years from now he & Common Sense should be considered as one of greatest but they won’t be precieved as such…for whatever reasons unbeknownst to me.

  21. Darth Cipher Says:

    Blu = West coast Nas

Jay Elec = raps soul survivor… whens the last time we had some serious NeoSoul rap??? “Be & Finding Forever”… Hip hop needs Jay Elec

  22. Eastern_Digital aka Nahright's Fantasy Football champ Says:

Man ppl are praisin cats as the future GOAT when they aint got an album out. Fuck is wrong with yall?

  23. Darth Cipher Says:

and co-sign NovemberEnd… IMO Common has some of the dopest hip hop we’ve had in years, going back to “Can I Borrow a Dollar”, Ressurection is definitely a top 10 hiphop album, my personal favourite common album would be “Like Water For Chocolate”… dudes catalogue stands strong!

  24. EnglandRepresent Says:

    Rhymefetthhhhhhtttttt (c) pockets

  25. EnglandRepresent Says:

Darth. Was it or was it not you who was saying yesterday that ‘you’re glad Biggie died’???? You need to have a look at yourself for that one mate.

Why not just bill them as Little Brother?

    I’m worried.

  27. AmpGeez a.k.a Exhibit Geez Says:

    J. Cole & Drake are being presented in different lights but they are very much in the same lane. Don’t be fooled.

  29. CZ Says:

Jay reacted a little funny to that Illuminati pitch
    ^
sure did. He brings in so much money for these stations that they not going to get him mad by arguing and F up promotions

  30. BK...Then Them Says:

Don’t get it fucked up…at one point Nas was one of if not THE Flyest nigga out…let J Cole be himself because he damn sure won’t be Esco…

  31. StandOut FT Says:

Hip Hop is back yall I like these joints right here. Rhyme fest is dope!

  32. StinkyPete Says:

Isn’t Jay Elec in his mid 30′s already he should already be the next whomever, is everyone gonna clown when he’s rhyming 5 years from now at 40 and Blu, J. Cole, Curren$y, and the other young cats are still gonna be well under 30, I guess what I’m saying is he doesn’t have quite the time frame to develop as these younger cats and while he’s much iller now he’s got quite a few years experience on them

  33. Eviction Notice Says:

Phonte (singin or spitin)>>>>>>>>________(insert your favorite rapper)

disappointed he didnt rap on either track, when i heard little brother was taking a hianus (birdman), i mean hiatus, i nearly shed a tear…
