Cole, Drake, et al., are hard to compare to the earlier generation, back in the day, you could get an album in stores off a hot guest 16 or an established artist co-sign……nowadays, you need those still, and you have to drop 2 or 3 mixtapes worth of quality material before anyone will even give you the time of the day, is it any wonder a lot of these dudes usually run out of A-grade material before the album even drops?
