    this statement couldn’t be further from the truth. Jay bodied exactly one (count them) thing “back then” – his debut, Reasonable Doubt. that was summer ’96. Biggie’s life and death totally suffocated Jay’s career until the Annie hook, circa fall/winter ’98 into ’99. now, that’s about 2 – 2 1/2 years worth of slobbing Big’s deceased knob before anybody starting paying attention to Jay on a national level. throw a hot track from Swizz on RR vol. 1 in the mix and Jay’s suddenly the center of East Coast Rap. and then there was X. . .
