Video: Brother Ali on Late Night on Jimmy Fallon

The Presence of Greatness.

Last week I flew out to New York to sit in with The Legendary Roots Crew on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I’m a huge fan of these dudes. Questlove is one of the greatest producers/band leaders of all time, Black Thought is among the greatest MC’s and The Roots are in my top 10 most influential Hip Hop groups. -Look for an article on my top 10 later this week.- We played “The Preacher” and “Tight Rope” along with a few freestyle pieces. It’s a shame that most of what we did was during the commercial breaks but here’s the entire episode from last Tuesday.

Poppin’ bottles with Jimmy and The Roots.

Hit the jump for footage of Brother Ali at OKP’s ’09 Holiday Jammy.

Read more about that night on his blog.

Video: Sean Price Interview w/ Puna.nl

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Man, Amsterdam loves them some fucking Sean Price.

Puna.nl is a hiphopblog from Amsterdam, The Netherlands and had the chance to interview Sean Price last week. We spoke with him about his upcoming projects and the part music plays in his personallife and family. He also mentioned a future break from hiphop, to focus on his personal life.

Why? Nah, I’m playing. I understand where he’s coming from. I hope when he says after Random Axe & Mic Tyson, that also means after the projects like The Pill w/ Ill Bill, Don Corneilius & Andrew Price Clay with Statik Selektah. Hopefully we’ll get to hear all of those and it wasn’t just his love for music talking.

He also speaks on Mic Tyson and that it will be reinforcing the “ignorance at it’s finest” motto that he’s had since the Monkey Barz days and the mother of ignorance shit he says at the end of this freestyle.

Virginia’s Commonwealth teams up with the Clipse for these Til The Casket Drops collaboration tees. One of them paying homage to the album title, and the other one spells out Popular Demand in the same font as the Popeyes logo, via CtotheJL.

I somehow got my hands on the last collabo tee they did for Hell Hath No Fury but I gave that away. I need to get this one though.

Available at Commonwealth VA, Commonwealth NC & the online store.
