Last I’ll say on the subject: There were two issues being addressed at the start of this overly long “debate”, 1.) that what A. Lambert did at the Awards Show was way the fuck out of line, and 2.)that the plight of Blacks should never be equated to that of homosexuals.

1) What Adam Lambert did was was the fuck out of line, not because he made homesexualy suggestive actions, but because he made far too graphic sexually suggestive actions period, regardless of prerence. He was out of the line in the same way Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson were out of line and in the same way Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguweirdlyspelled last name was. If you think he was out of line simply because his actions were suggestive of “gay” actions, then yes, you are a bigot.
2) This argument is frequently made because in the past century there have been only a handful of groups who have made their right for “equal rights” a cultural phenomenon. There are a fair amount of similarities between the gay rights movement and civil rights movement. There are a lot of similarities between discrimination against gays and blacks due simply to their sexual orientation or the color of their skin. Both groups have had members murdered simply for either being gay or black. The numbers may not be equal, but nonetheless, that events hatred was still strong to lead to murder. Now, to my knowledge, Gays were never forced into slavery for hundreds of years and to compare being gay to being a slave is a terribly ignorant statement to make. The similarities can better be stated by saying that both gays and blacks are groups that have been severely discriminated solely for one characteristic.
