i’ve been saying since day 1 that it is impossible for wale to do numbers
two months ago i said right here in the comments that if he does numbers, i will post my testes on NR
i reiterated that sentiment over and over
bottom line, anyone who was biting their fingernails waiting for him to do #s, kill yourself. the TI’s know the business, that’s why he got released during tax write-off season
RIP his record deal, RIP ronson as a creidble manager
maybe if he promises 90% of his profits, G and Tez will actually build a decent following for this cat (like they did for drake)
no shots and no hate – his 9th wonder mixtape made me a believer in his skills but not a believer in his ability to resonate with enuf fans
he is now stuck-in-limbo-status (c) kidz in the hall
wale, welcome to purgatory my brother

^ so what about the ability to retain? thousands of hours is just that, you have to develope a filing system in the memory.
^^
At the point of 10,000 hours Malcolom was referring to retaining becomes inherent. For instance, on a smaller scale, if you hear a song over and over on the radio, you may not even be paying attention to it. But one day, you’ll know a signifigant number of the lyrics without ever making a conscious decision to retain it at all.

co-sign your post, but in reference to the above, I don’t think anyone’s surprised he did poorly, people are just shocked at how poorly.
And co-sign the comments in the last post about Hyerr, Chip went the fuck in. That song gets mad burn in the whip, as opposed to the rest of the LP, which kind of sucks.

Instead he pandered to the crossover demo with Chillin and got ignored
^^
He’ll regret letting Interscope talk him into that (at least I hope they had to talk him into that) for the rest of his career.

Pretty Girls woulda been a great lead single. It sticks with his areas sound and it’s for women.

It always boggles my mind when labels make such blatanly horrendous decisions like this in terms of marketing and single choices. Mark Ronson failed Wale, so did his Roc Nation “management”.

Ronson put together a good album though which is all I would expect him to do.
^^
I havent gotten past track 6 yet, but from what I hear, it picks up in the second half.

This docu will probably be dope, but nothing is touching that VH1 special after he got out of jail. The RZA-Dame Dash argument was incredibly classic. RZA got sonned.

^cool. I would put the murder city cd up there, but it’s hella old atleast to me, and I feel that cd doesn’t represent me like how I wanna be preceived as a artist. When did you do this mixtape cause you’ve kept your rapping a secret a long time on this site man.
