Imagine, instead of trying to recruit the so-called “hottest” producers or let Guru/Blaze and ‘em eat up your studio money… you could let a couple of your weed carriers comb the internet (Myspace) for some beats and find you a nice studio for a very reasonable price and bang out the records. Videos can be shot for next to nothin’ these days.

True. Just like how I feel that Free/50′s “Take It to the Top” was severely under promoted. That was actually a good radio record but Free got lost in the ’07 4th quarter hoopla. More like a fail on KYS and PGC’s part, they’re the ones still burning Beautiful (although 92Q may know that I think about it), You Dont Know Me is the Bmore anthem. I dont mind, I think both tracks are two of the best hiphop singles this decade, no exaggeration. The ONLY other TI single that even comes close is What you Know About that.

Curtis is a smart dude but also pretty ignorant. Dude is like the Rush Limbaugh of rapping. I’m not a big fan of 50, Jay, or Puff but I can imagine Jay and Puff still being one of the top individuals within the music industry for a long time. Curtis and his whole approach to music isn’t going to last. Just look at each of his albums sales, popularity, and impact.

^Yeah, it was Big Spender, which fucked up the flow of the album IMO. When 50 gives you a better song than you’re own boss than that’s a sure sign. Of what? I have no clue, but it damn sure shouldn’t have been on the album.
And content wise he turned it up tremendously. The opening track was some of the realest ish said about the whole Roc story and his introduction to the label. The production was just the icing on the cake. I’m kinda glad Kanye DIDN’T have a production feature on the album.

Why am I (after years of him getting on my nerves) feeling 50 all of a sudden? Jay is pop culture now. Not saying Jay can’t do what he wants (I’m happy for him making his dough and all), but I’m seeing Hov for who he is now. I’m feeling Curtis on his connection to the streets now.
This would have been blasphemous to me even a few months ago, but the whole Roc Nation/Mr. Hudson features/generally going pop thing has showed me that Jay is corporate America now. Not hatin’ on dude, but recognize that it is what it is.
Doesn’t mean I condone Boo Boo always stirring up some shit, though.

First off Jay-z Got Paid For That “show me what you got’ video and other things he did with that Album…do some research and look it up mr. jackson. he didnt need to send money on marketing when he is the market… 1 example :commercial he did with ‘show me what you got’ playing with his video he got paid for that plus the promo…duhhh c’mon son(Ed lover voice)
