IMO. difference btn Lupe and Jay Elec is like what Jay and Nas used to be…
Lupe goes extraterestial complicated with the meanings behind his lyrics, Jay Elec is in your face with it.[ll]
Jay Elec = Early JayZ
Lupe = Nasir

I mean, seriously, at least a “Lil’” rapper can say, “My grandmama used to call me Lil’ Shawty Moke Moke”, and it’s like, “Aww, okay, a family name.”
Or, “My homeboy–Rest In Peace–used to call me Young Squiggle”.
MOTHERFUCKERS, NO RELATIVE OR HOMEY IS CALLING YOU “SEE YOU ARE TEE AT SIGN EXCLAMATION POINT ENN DOLLAR SIGN”!!!!

Okay since ni99as want a speech here go. I feel like Lupe goes in with complex rhyme schemes and a lot of shit you gotta do research to decpher.. sometimes taking away from the effectiveness of the song @ first listen. He is one of the most complex writers ever to grace the Mic = Nasir.
Jay Elec makes bold, powerful statements but its all from a persoanl assertion. You can’t dispute his street cred and you can’t deny his skill, however it doesn’t require too much research to get the point he’s making.
At least this is how I view them.
October 28th, 2009 at 11:26 am
stop with these Elec comparisons.
Cant Jay Electronica just be Jay Electronica? lol
To be honest, if you compare his style to anyone other than Nas, Rakim or Killah Priest, shit dont make NO SENSE. Like, at all.

All i want is jennings tho so why you making this difficult

black thought > budden > mos > em > nikki > krs > wale > gsan > buckshot
October 28th, 2009 at 11:29 am
@gravity
honestly fam, i think jay e is just as deep (n) as lupe… maybe the delivery is different.. but both of them are on some deep shit at times….
to compare them to jay and nas doesnt quite work.. thats just how i see it. You may have been better comparing them to maybe mos and black thought?
am i wrong on this?
