^Nigga wasn’t we just talking bout prodigy sunday? C’mon amp, lol (n)
===========================================
LOL nah, I never understood Pastor Troy.
His biggest contribution to Hip-Hop was doing “Are We Cuttin’” wih Timbaland. Dude had a huge following in ATL but when he got his deal, he never made the right kinda music.
At least Cam & Co. got to body that “Are We Cuttin’” beat lol.
And I don’t have to be from Atlanta to know Pastor Troy is a gimmick rapper who never rose above the gimmick.
That’s why he went from the indie circuit to a major to selling cd’s out his trunk.
Just cause he’s hot in his hometown don’t make him ill.

Yes, yet still people argue over Nas and Jay, whos the GOAT etc etc. There is NO way to measure it, okay you can say album sales, but you can’t measure mic presence, lyrical ability so at the end of the day everyone is gonna have a different opinion on whos good and whos garbage.

I mean, shit, it was so bad for a while that Lil’ Wayne’s average-at-best-but-not-better-in-his-prime-than-any-other-classic-GOAT-nominee-in-their-prime ass managed to fool people into thinking he had more than a modicum of talent all because of the “Lean Wit It Party Like A Walk It Out It’s Going Down Laffy Taffy” era. You will never convince me that Pastor Troy is a cat I need to be listening to.
I know what I like and that ain’t it.
Pastor Troy’s adlibs > Pastor Troy’s music
October 27th, 2009 at 3:39 pm
First off, WTF is Lupe doing rapping over soundclick beats? You can still hear the fucking tag in the beat…SMH….Verse is dope though.
Second, Food & Liquor wasn’t a classic by any stretch of the imagination. It was a very good CD, and a great debut, but to call it a classic is reaching like Mr. Fantastic.
Third, Pastor Troy’s first CD is much like Wu’s 36 Chambers– Its badly recorded, terribly mixed, but the raw emotion placed into the music was completely undeniable. Plus, he spawned sooooooooooo many clones after his first cd it was almost funny. Finally, he provided the street element that “crunk” music was looking for, basically pushing that movement to where Lil Jon was trying to take it. If you weren’t in ATL during 1999-2004, you have NO IDEA how big Pastor Troy really was in the south; He basically ethered the No Limit tank solo, as No Mo Play/We Ready moved UNITS throughout out the south. PT Cruiser is basically at fault now for all the self made rappers and trap boys (everyone from Jeezy to Gucci have followed his blueprint) out of the south to “pick up a beat machine” and rap. Thats influence, and to say otherwise is a lie.

Oh and i’ve heard 4 mixtapes from gucci and liked a handfull of the songs, dude knows how to pick beats but i’ll say that was a stretch. he cant rap for shit
And who can blame me, Listening to east coast rap spoiled me. Listening to Southern boosie approved rappers would only be a downgrade
Shots fired

LOL…this dude is mad…those shots don’t affect me fam…You’re downgrading yourself by listening to old washed up rappers trying to rap like rappers back in the mid 90′s…
You’ve been spoiled in staleness which is why you like corny rappers such as slaughterhouse…I mean I can totally see you in tight ass jeans and chucks with square glasses and a stained hoody with a broke zipper bouncing and screaming to kid cudi…
Face it son…you don’t really like the south…I mean you’re the only dude who said sh> Hot boyz….only a rap geek would say something like that..

An argument can be made that music is subjective. Skill is still measurable, the term classic stil means something if the majority of a group deem it so.
Gucci Mane = entertainer(a good one at best)
Lupe = MC (real talent & skill)

Food & liqour is the only definitive classic in the 00s outside of MMLP and Blueprint
^^^^^^^^^^^^
So Madvilliany, Stankonia, Supreme Clientele, and College Dropout aren’t classics?

Joe 88…excuse yourself from life. Opinions are great and all and everyone is entitled to one, but “Lupe’s first album was trash”….somebody put something in this dude’s mouth, my zipper is stuck.

i thought a hipster = like kid kudi…
^ Kick push goat hipster song.
anytime a black kid is associated with a skateboard, tight jeans, glasses, a nerdy back story, retro rhyme style.. these are all hipster traits.
^^^^
been skating for 10 years and every kid i’ve seen dressed like a hipster at parks and shit was a straight clown and was as good at skateboarding as michael jay fox performing open heart surgeory

no joe 88 pastor troy album wasnt no fuckin classic. are u smokin? pastor troy got a few songs. yes. he is a deep rapper and individual. cool. but majority, nor 3′s prove dat pastory troy first album was a certified classic. maybe amongst a cult, but dat dont count. nas, jay, n lupe albums can be certified classics cuz they can be argued for, the sounds can withstand da test of time. i cant say dat for pastor. for u 2 say lupe album was trash, u are not a hiphop fan, u listen 2 trash rap u have 2.
