Joell Ortiz - Run This Town Freestyle
A couple of things: Joell and Rick Gonzalez (pictured above) will be shooting a pilot for a new show early next year.
Although I’m categorically against most rappers acting, I think this is a great look for Joell. I was really impressed how well he did with his small role in Mr. Cordero’s Inside A Change.
Also, Free Agent will not be released through E1/KOCH as previously announced.
That is all.

All their first Timbaland produced albums are classics.
I remember this chick I was fucking with in college bumping that One In A Million album before it came out. She was from Detroit and had some connection to Aaliyah’s family.

I heard Daz did some beat work on Chronic and the first DPG. I don’t own the second so i can’t check the credits or anything, and I’m too lazy to wiki that shit.
What I def can speak on is the BS credits he gets on those Em albums. I’m sure that he probably does 80% of one or two beats, but that Relapse album definitely had Mike Elizondo all over it, his methods were just too blatant. I can’t see Dre producing “Same Song and Dance” without throwing the bass over it.

So Tired (Ft. Dion, Bun B, Devin The Dude & Pretty Ugly)
Prolly my favorite Hi-Tek song from one of his albums. The way the guitar fades out atthe end…crazy.
And that kid Pretty Ugly snapped too.
Now personally, I don’t give a fuck who forget about me when I’m dead and gone
Cause most of the people who don’t care won’t even hear this song
I been a lot of place’s I thought I’d never ever be
And I seen a lot of things I thought I’d never ever see
My momma told me that these streets gonna be the death of me
I’ve been in situations from murder’s to the burglaries
I’m a pretty dude, why ugly dudes always be testin me
I’m a skinny dude, why big dudes always be testin me
I make it happen real fast, unexpectedly
My hood shootouts be exactly like the Westerns be
I tell a judge and jury I was just defendin’ me
And intimidation is no relation, only kin to me
I usually ride by myself, there’s never men with me
I’m a grown man, I don’t need no men to sin for me
Cause it ain’t no vest on me, don’t think you got the best of me
That ain’t the way I’m supposed to die, that ain’t my destiny

It should be noted that although Young studies piano and musical theory, he is not necessarily an instrumentalist himself. As he joked to Time magazine in 2001, “I bought a trumpet a couple of years ago, and everybody started hiding from me” [13]. In the same article, Time described a recording process in which Dr. Dre operates is more as a conductor than a musician himself-
Every Dre track begins the same way, with Dre behind a drum machine in a room full of trusted musicians. (They carry beepers. When he wants to work, they work.) He’ll program a beat, then ask the musicians to play along; when Dre hears something he likes, he isolates the player and tells him how to refine the sound. “My greatest talent,” Dre says, “is knowing exactly what I want to hear.” [14]

October 26th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
Although Snoop Dogg retains working relationships with Warren G and Daz, who are alleged to be uncredited contributors on the hit albums The Chronic and Doggystyle, he states that Dr. Dre is capable of making beats without the help of collaborators, and makes it clear where the credit for the success of his albums is due-
Beatmakers make beats. A lot of niggas make beats. [Dre] produces tracks. So that ain’t disrespect what I’m saying. I’m just telling you what’s real. I seen him make tracks from scratch. My whole record the nigga made damn near everything from scratch. [For the song] “Ain’t No Fun”, Daz and Warren G brought him the little [sings melody], that’s all they had! Dre took that muthaf***a to the next level! Warren G brought in the [sample of] Donny Hathaway [singing], “Little Ghetto Boy, laying in the ghetto streets”. Dr. Dre flipped it like “Hold on, gimme that!” Took that muthaf***a and made it straight hit!… They made beats, Dre produced that record. Point blank, and I’d say it in they face…I can make a beat, but I can’t produce! I can make a beat, but can I tell a nigga what to rap about, can I tell him when to come with the hook? Can you break the beat down? That’s what producing is.
October 26th, 2009 at 11:05 pm

And no one’s discounting Dre’s talent, but adding on to what somebody else did and then taking the lion’s share of the credit is wack.

Also, Free Agent will not be released through E1/KOCH as previously announced.
^ I’ll be looking forward to this, The Brick was a solid LP

And Dre only recently admitted to even using “underlings” and that was only after so many members of his camp started to call him out for it. At least Tim helped Danja create a career of his own.
You remember Sam Sneed?

I got the full mastered instrumental, joint is over 7 minutes long. The muffled chorus underneath the drums are too dope.
