More important: Dude, Royce’s flow mirrored (still does at times) Em’s something serious. Listen to the OG version of Renegade, Royce has the beta-copy of Eminem’s flow, and Em has the perfected version.
Same goes for “Bad Meets Evil” on the SSLP, Royce was (embarrassingly) stumbling with the multi-syllabic flow, the same one Em crushed them 3 niggas with on the Forever verse and mad shit before then. Royce’s style, heavy based on Em’s, without it Royce might have been rapping like them Black Sheep/Twista niggas. Em is the Royce Sr. (none).

Nope. 50 was already who he was…Dre just gave him better beats.
You may be ignorant of this…but Em and Royce Always(not always) rapped like that, thats why they formed a group….Royce didnt get his style from Em, they met eachother on the battle/cipher scene and happened to have similar styles and they both respected eachother and decided to form a group “Bad meets evil”…It just so happened that Em blew up and Royce didnt…and Em happened to be better than Royce, but believe whatever fairytales you want to.

I’m an Em stan, not as much as I am a Nas stan but regardless. I’ve owned a copy what I believe is to be every pressed physical copy (except vinyl) of the MMLP. Had the clean version, the Australian import, had the bitch on Cassette and all that.
Credentials aside, there’s a reason why its referred to as Em’s flow, and not “Bad Meets Evil” flow, which I’ll reiterate, Royce pinned himself on, word to Kurt Angle.
I can remember all those old Dallas Penn XXL columns when he preaches the use of multi-syllables, for some reason I can’t remember Royce’s name ever being dropped.
