i think that there is a very real worry that rappers can’t do a sophisticated line of clothing
like for eminem to do 700,000 SHADY sweatshirts that end up in TJ MAXX, it’s not even a loss if they end up selling for 12.99
it’s not like the shits were handmade with valuable materials. the shits were cranked out right next to the Hanes sweatshirts you buy at Kohls for the same price. no loss.
but like when andre 3 stacks did the benjamin bixby line with all premium materials only for the shit to flop, that had to be a massive loss. not for andre 3 stacks, but for his financial backers
i wouldn’t be surprised if the money behind pastelle was like “nah, premium rapper lines haven’t been tested in the market and we don’t want to lose. fuck this”
