   one has to understand the nature of the beast

   academic pursuits in hopes of securing a promising career would be the last thing on your mind if your moms was a crackhead and pops was MIA…lets also add to the mix that your peers you associate with on a daily are coming up in a similar (if not worse) situation than you are, and you guys have to worry about getting murked on the way to and from school…we won’t even consider the fact that you may not know where your next meal is coming from, b/c moms likes to sell the food stamps to support her hard candy habit, and the only thing you see brothers do on the daily is hawk the corner, serving your moms and others like her

   to overlook scenarios like the above and place the blame on folks stuck in that environment/state of mind is seriously some Willie Lynch shit
