Yelawolf ft. Raekwon – Wish
Here’s what Killer Mike told Complex about this kid Yelawolf:
Killer Mike says: He’s a white kid from Alabama that’s up here on the Atlanta scene. He’s a hybrid of the Dungeon Family and Lynyrd Skynyrd—and there is nothing more southern than those two experiences. This kid is truly what a country musician is—not country music, but an artist from the country. They have to the ability to come to places, affect themselves, take those experiences, reinterpret them, and put them back out into the world as beautiful art. There are a lot of great live performers here and he’s one of the best I’ve seen. He doesn’t miss a beat, controlling the chaos of his shows. He’s dope as shit.
I’m not too sure how I feel about this guy yet, but I will say that I like the “I wish a motherfucker would” theme of this track and Rae has a mean ass verse.
Bonus: Yelawolf – F.U. (Fuck You)

This guy was on that Missy Elliot reality show, Road To Stardom. http://www.tv.com/yelawolf/person/342621/summary.html i can’t remember if he was actually talented or not but if Killa Mike and Rae endorses him he can’t be half bad

I’ve never understood bloggers who say things like “I don’t know how I feel about this guy yet”. I mean, you haven’t heard enough music to form an initial impression on first listen? Just say whatever your first impression is…you can always qualify that with “…but that may change once I listen to it more”. I have no idea when bloggers starting sitting on the fence with their music opinions, but it’s not a good trend…

not feelin this one. i guess if the price is right, eh Rae? Cash rules…
October 3rd, 2009 at 3:17 am
HMMMMMMMM…. I like dude’s attitude/disposition and all that. My opinion is that he needs to work on his rhymes a lil bit more. Young cats have been putting more on swagger than real rhyme skills lately. Dude has some talent tho.

Yelawolf is a unique type of MC. I you listen , u can detect a Wu Tang influence and fo rthose who think Rae is puttin his style out there too much, its about time Wu really connected with hiphop’s new home: Alabama or mainly the South!
