Video: 9th Wonder’s “De Blog Jam”

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Says Lowkey:

9th Wonder Is Back! Ok so I wanted to do this dope feature on SoundOff called “Studio Rats” which would include hand selected artists, radio personalities, DJ’s and producers in their elements grinding out whatever it is they do in a studio setting. However, StudioRats.Com already has the rights to the name so I’m forced to go back to the drawing board.

Furthermore, 9th and his folks already titled these videos “De Blog Jam” so it wouldn’t make sense for me to alter what he’s already started. But have no fear because it’s a win-win situation. In the coming weeks the “My Sessions” franchise will begin and 9th’s, “De Blog Jam” will continue to live exclusively on these walls. And MAKE sure you check for the next episode because David Banner will be making a DOPE cameo.

Parker: How many blunts deep are we tonight?

Devin: Well, I got here man about three hours ago, so it’s only been like…10.

They also talk about Devin’s new solo project (dropping the end of October), as well as new stuff from The Coughee Brothers and the Odd Squad.

Video: Evidence on The History of Los Angeles Graffiti

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Evidence does a quick vlog about the book The History of Los Angeles Graffiti, Vol 1 by L.A. writer WISK WCA. Volume 2 is about to drop, and I’d like to check both of them out. While I consider myself pretty well versed on the history and lore of New York graf, I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to the intricacies of the L.A. scene. So yeah, if somebody wanted to send me “review” copies of these two books, I would definitely not refuse them. Ahem.

Check out the trailer for Vol. 2 after the jump.

Video: Tupac – The Lost Footage Pt. 5

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

In some down time during VIBE Magazine’s candid 1996 interview with 2Pac, VIBE plays fly on the wall as Pac talks on the phone with Suge Knight.

LOL…I’m pretty sure that violates some kind of federal eavesdropping law, no? Or maybe not since Pac knew he was being recorded, but still…I doubt Suge knew he was on candid camera.

Jay and Brit Rock god Ian Brown share the cover of this week’s issue of NME, and also interview each other for the cover story. It appears that Noel Gallagher’s name comes up during their talk. Should be an interesting read.
