Hope that Shady deal includes solo albums too…all these years and Crooked still hasn’t released his first official proper album…the EP should be dope though
Thank God, not another post about a lethargic, extremely mediocre 90s rapper, filled with completely unsubstantiated, nonsensical, rantings posted by 25-year-old pseudo-intellectuals stan boys who wear tight pants who obviously know as much about lyricism and musical quality in Hip Hop as I know about superstring theory.
I have nothing but love for eskay and most of the nahright fam but, the site could do without some of these redundant idiots.
Crooked I is the truth. I hope to God Slaughterhouse goes to Shady. Although some of you pedantic haters try so dilligently to refute the facts, WHEN EM HAS BEEN ACTIVE, his roster has outsold those of any other subsidiary record label owned by a Hip Hop artist – by leaps and bounds I might add. Every single artist under Em prior to his hiatus sold over a million records, with some going multiplatinum, and even diamond.
They don’t need to have solo releases on shady to make a shitload of money as a result of the affiliation. As long as he promotes them and they show face alongside him publicly, over time they will garner more and more attention.
The last thing you want is an immediate SH album release on Shady. They should continue their scheduled album cycles (Relapse 2, BISD, perhaps Detox lol…). Then, after the rest of the label has the world buzzing with their albums, slaughterhouses global fanbase has grown significantly (through public recognition and the excitement surrounding the shady/aftermath roster), they can drop an official SH album and it will be commercially successful.
This would be similair to how Em and Dre introduced 50 Cent to their prepostrously massive global fanbases after their extremely successful album cycles and GRODT sold through the roof. Obviously, SlaughterHouse will never have anywhere near the commercial success of 50 Cent, especially given todays market – it still would seem the most intelligent and efficient course of action.
Meanwhile, the Slaughterhouse members can continue to drop individual street albums, mixtapes, and/or even a group mixtape while their waiting (you know their street/independent music game is serious). Also, these projects too will benefit over time from their growing fan fare as a result of being promoted by and affiliated with Eminem and his label mates.
