Lil Wayne ft. Drake, Nicki Minaj, Gudda Gudda & Lloyd – Bed Rock [DJ]
Off Evil Empire’s Interstate Trafficking 9 mixtape. The second single from the Young Money compilation.
There’s supposedly more Young Money artists on the full version but who’s complaining.

That wasn’t Gudda on those Wayne/Drake tracks…it was Nutt Da Kidd…he was on the original version of Forever and Stunt Hard…and Miss Officer on C3…he got dropped from the camp around the time those records leaked…the full version to this track (it’ll be the lead single for the YM album) suppossedly has Jae Millz and Tyga, both can actually spit…though I wouldn’t expect that much on a track like this…this shit will be a huge hit though, so prepared to get sick of hearing it very very soon

he’s just the opposite of CH, in the sense that he is amazing at building hype by understaturating the internets. I used to way hyped when I watched that Dear Moleskin trailer, now I just get half pissed/half intrigued. But can you fault an artist for being prolific? i read that shit the Clipse said in that Complex interview & I agree that churning out throw away tracks is hustling backwards but if you’re making music everyday & you’re trying to build your brand and get people’s ears, why not flood em untill they pay attention? It’s what Fif did. Not to the same extent that Charles Hamilton took it, but hey, the kid has a fairly deep catalog of some decent to good music and he’s only been around a year or two.

Jay Electronica will never be on a hottest MC’s list and that’s the way it should be. I wouldn’t wanna see any of the dudes that I respect as lyricists on one of those lists because it probably means they’ve sold out. maybe it doesn’t and all of a sudden the masses have woken up to dopeness, but I doubt it. I think the days of seeing niggas like Jay or Nas, who the streets respect as lyricists, crossing over to mainstream are largely over. you’ll get a few here and there, but they won’t touch the success of a Jay or a (chuckle) Nas.
….. I didn’t realize we were discussing this in reference to ‘the hottest” (none) list, I think Jay E is the most talented other worldly emcee around, but of course he isn’t in the “hottest” (again none) discussion, I was just responding to some saying the street corners are all that matters, like I said its not 1994 and unless you 12-15 years old you should be working to get your ass off the corners, don’t get me wrong I stop by the corners every now and then, but hip-hop is very rarely discussed unless something just dropped or really you roll up bumping something new, music debates come up when your chilling for awhile and bullshitting, if your still doing that on the street corner you need to revaluate your life, also to eskay’s point I agree about not wanting certain rappers on the “hottest” list (none times 3) they got Budden as #4 you guys know I’m a Budden stan, but that actually kind of bothers me …..

thats cool if thats your favorite rapper, but dude could never be mentioned with a jay or nas or even a raekwon if dude’s status remains the same…if rap is like ball then you at least gotta be in the nba to be considered a great…we could say earl manigault or some other random dude in the street is better than michael jordan, but that is just simply not a good measuring stick cause jordan played against the best competition.
Commercial music has always been prevalent throughout modern american music history. I like Blu a lot, but I can’t put him on that level cause dude is relatively known, but I still bump his music heavily. Thats just how somethings work.

Cats don’t understand that Jay-Z is just as much a brand as Nike or McDonald’s. Whether they get a label to invest in their career or they invest in themselves, the music is the product & their name is the brand.
It’s a music “Business”.
