Off that is the worst song on bp3
======================
Not if you listen to “Hate” right after it.
BP3 has so little soul. And Hov comes off as an egomaniac.
Maybe my least favorite Hov album.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:39 am
is jay-z getting fat?
September 5th, 2009 at 8:48 am
BP3 has so little soul
^Which is why I got tired of it real quick. As the resident so-called Hove hater, I think I was honest enough to give him a solid rating and say that the album didn’t suck. But it aint a top tier neither. Leave the hipster rap to the youngans (Wiz, CuDi, etc., who also do a far better job with those sounds) and move on to some REAL grown shit. Right now he should only be fuckin’ with producers who do some serious crate diggin’ for sounds that that are barely used (Afro-cuban, Mamba, West African, etc) and plenty others. For instance, I still think the song ROC Boys is a fuckin’ lava. Mainly because the sample is from a band and the live instruments give it that soul. I’m not sayin’ he has to rely on the same used/abused 60′s/70′s joints, but definitely goin’ further to elevate the production. He has tons of dough. He could’ve easily traveled to different Black/Brown countries and islands and find the livest bands of that region and created a whole new sound. But leave it to the stans and they say I’m asking too much from the one we call GOAT.

the album is colorless, genre-less, timeless…..
all the things Hov is trying to do IMO….btw, I’m a Hov fan.
problem is, even the most pop, most left of center rap album will always be a rap album….I don’t think anyone can make a rap album that is without a genre….colorless and timeless can definitely be done with a rap album tho

Still havent listened to Bp3 yet, I havent really got into the mood to critique it yet. I’ve been a Jay fan all my life, and all these opinions have fucked shit up so I might just wait for it to drop in stores and just go from there. Going off the few tracks I have heard though, the best analysis I heard was my last from my homie when he said, if it was named KC2 it would of lived up to the hype, but naming it Bp3…sorta water’s down the whole Blueprint name, going from 1,2,3..its been a steady decline, and looking at the whole Blueprint series doesnt give BP1 justice. Look how Nas went from illmatic to still matic, or Raekwon from OB4cl to OB4CL 2. they all kept the same theme, same sound. It sorta made sense when he said that. But when it drops I’ll listen and judge myself
But still at the end of the day Jay-Z>>>>

as much as i hate KC because of the severe comedown from the Black Album, its still a good album.. i can listen to KC more than AG – a lot of niggas say its a good album and fair enough, but I always dismiss it from his discography anyway cos I view it as an unofficial OST.

Its better than vol 2 and 3. and much better than kingdom come. good album. He’s not rapping like he’s from the hood cause he isn’t in the hood no more dummies. In a bout 2 or 3 years all you dumbasses will be changing your tune about this album just like you did with all his other albums. Now KC is a good album cause the blueprint 3 came out? It was trash then and trash now, why change your mind 3 years down the line? Internet niggas think they know good music. I swear niggas is stupid. Make up your fucking minds.

stfu with your pseudo-intellectual nonsense.
Reasonable doubt wasnt considered a classic by the masses until 3 or 4 years later, so why the fuck cant i change my mind 3 years later about KC? (Democracy FTW). BP3 coming out puts KC into context, and in that context i realised it isn’t such a bad album but AS I CLEARLY SAID BEFORE I didnt like it that much at the time “because of the come down from the Black Album”.
who said jay is not rapping like he’s from the hood and who expected him too?
oh word, he’s worth several hundred milli? i just realised, smh.
BP3 is a good album if you stand it alone, but since he’s labelled it with the same name as 2 other classics, its going to be compared and naturally so. If it was called ‘Camel Tales’ or something then yeah, you can maybe compare to the last album but it doesnt have that automatic tag of living up to the classics of the same name.

the fact that a person would say that hov’s music truly sucks sounds like a GAY statement within itself. rae and busta r dope as hell as well. but if u say jay fell off witch he is one of only a few artist that is consistent in dropping good material and staying relevant, then where would u put rae and busta .jay gets HATED on the most cuz he’s the 1 that made the $, he’s the 1 that dropped 10 #1 albums a row only the beatles can best that not n e 1 n hip hop not now not ever. NAS is the best M.C with BLACK THOUGHT next and EM falls in line sum where n their. 50 and EM both made $ i respect that, cant knock the hustle. it’s a few niggas that do it and do it well. shit X even had the shit on lock 4 like 3 or 4 albums b 4 the drugs took over and if u ever went to a X show u know dog did it. wayne is sweet so is jada. kanye is wack with his delivery but his content is dope and he’s gifted musically. then RA,KANE,KRS,BIG,PAC,PUN,BIGL who with NAS,BLACK THOUGHT AND EM, late 80′s early 90′s CUBE & REN r the best mc’s EVER. GHOST is tight, METH came back wjth a fury of dope flows on the blackout2, RED been nice. But none of these niggas did it nor do it like HOV. NAS,EM, and 50 r close but NAS is inconsistent with album sales, EM lacks the street credibility and 50′s flow is o.k at best. Sept.8th HOVI’S HOME!

the beauty of democracy.
do you live in a communist state? people cna change their mind all they want, just because they dont agree with you immediately on music, they’r fickle? you sound like a disgruntled (most probably unsuccessful) artist or producer.
i mean if you think i look foolish for changing my mind on an album, then i think you live a rosy world where the street are laced in candy and it rains choco-drops.
but the reality is:
-people will and can change their minds
-blogs are the future and almost shape whos hot on the streets

Anybody talkin’ like BP3 ain’t damn near classic status is full of shyt.
Hov bodies every last one of these beats on BP3. Hell I wonder if the beat wasn’t created until AFTER his flow. He’s rapping like it’s the beats job to keep up with him on the track. Then he switches up his flow effortlessly, of which he has at least 5 different ones. The lyrics are on point every.fucking.time. Even on timberland’s awful “reminder.”
Then he responds to just about every thing that a hater has sent his way in the past couples of year, but yall niggas is too busy yappin 2 hear that. “N*gga’s want my old shit,buy my old album.”
There’s no comparision and a lot of yall mofos are some ungrateful smucks. How can u not be tired of hearing drug rap by now, especially when it’s fake as hell? Yall net’ niggas don’t even move weight and never could, which is why you buy into this bullshit so easily! And even that one ain’t a certified classic yet. It just feels so New York, but outside of New York, who cares?
You can’t hold BP3 up to any of Hov’s past albums.

I personally feel that Jay has several gems on BP3, just my opinion though.
….. as do I, the intro is dope, state of NY if really dope, a star is born is crazy, already home is damn good, reminder even sounds better to me know, the last 2 songs are surprisingly good and Thank you is ridiculous especially that third verse there is definitely some vintage hov in there its just hidden between some bullshit, just not as much bullshit as I expected ….

there’s at least 6 or 7 Straight heatrocks from blueprint 3. Kingdome come not so much he had a couple songs which were really good “mama I made it” “do you wanna ride”, but no real bangers. Not one song for KC was for the whip. It just wasn’t his best work. Blueprint 3 got bangers. That song with jeezy is pure crack. what we talking about=crack. Thank= super crack. Already home=crack filled with anthrax. So ambitious=Propofol crack. Empire state of mind= crack.
Doa and run this town are skippers cause I heard em so much. One to the next one is intended for a different group of people who like to dance and wild one. Listen to hov’s flow and lyrics it’s simple, sarcastic and yet effective. Everyone’s saying a star is born is crack but its an alright track. Though he did kill the lyrics and flow, the beat aint all that.
The album is for everybody not just one group of people. he don’t make music for niggas on the corner. niggas don’t understand. You aint buying his music so why should he make it for you? Does travis tritt and garth brooks make music for the hood? No, cause they don’t support him. Like he should make music for niggas bootlegging and downloading his music. You aren’t his fans.
KC= hot garbage
BP3= Crack
Why are niggas so mad that he aint making music for them, when you are not his demographic?

I come to state my opinion and usually disappear b’cos of my line of work so dnt take it personal if I dn’t respond to a reply immediately.
Jay Z is rich, I don’t think anyone doubts that( we don’t need reminders). A lot of his fans have patronized his work since day one. If they feel his new work is lackluster his response shouldn’t be ‘you want my old shit// buy my old albums’(we already bought them thrice over). Thats a bit too arrogant I think. The point is, some of us used to buy Hov albums to learn a thing or two, now from what i’ve heard of BP3, he’s just rehashing the same subject matter. I won’t download it ‘cos its against my principles as a person. However, this will be the last $7.99 I spend on his work if its truly lackluster. Don’t shit on the people, they’ll replace you.(c) any historical figurehead.
