Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

This is where all of the footage of Bun B coming out on other rappers’ tour stops in Houston comes at a crossroad with Young Jeezy bringing everyone and they mamas out on the America’s Most Wanted tour. Can’t say I mind.

guess-who

There’s no way this song could have gotten a post a few years ago, but times have changed and that was practically another lifetime.

Splizzy has some more songs from Trey’s album, go getchu some.

(Who do you think is in that picture above, no ConcreteLoop.)

Jay-Z feat. Drake – Off That (prod. Timbaland)

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

For those of you who were concerned about the number of features on Blueprint 3, there’s no verse from Drake, he’s only on the hook on this one (c) how Lil Wayne likes things. If one of their collaborations does make Thank Me Later, hopefully some spit will be exchanged [||], because that’s what everyone is trying to hear.

Mikkey Halsted feat. Miss Criss – Yes Y’all (prod. No ID)

He premiered a new song he made with No I.D. Video coutesy of FSD:

Sneaker Pimps rolled through Chicago this past weekend, with the Clipse headlining and Chi-Town favorites such as Mikkey Halsted, Project Mayhem and Reno Chinati all featured on the bill.

Mikk performed a handful of never-before-heard tracks, including “I’m The Man” (prod. by SC) and “Zoom”, which had the crowd even more anxious to hear what’s in store with his debut, Chicago: The Photo Album. The track above is a potential first single from The Photo Album (at least I’d like to see it), produced by No ID entitled “Yes Y’all”. It features his sister Miss Criss – and there’s also a remix floating around featuring The Cool Kids. Below find “They Shootin”, which is a joint he performs over Nas’ “Made You Look”, and after the jump is the No ID-produced “Karma”

You heard him, hit the jump.

Video: Closed Session w/ Truck North & Big Pooh (Dutch Dalton)

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Here’s the second installment of RubyHornet’s Closed Sessions. The first featured Curren$y crafting the song “Rapper Weed” and this one finds Truck North & Rapper Big Pooh making “Dutch Dalton:”

“Truck North was in town working and performing with Mikkey Halsted. We met Truck a week or so before when he was in Chicago for Rock The Bells and asked him to participate in our new feature. Truck obliged, and sat with us at SoundScape where went through some new Tony Baines beats. Truck was about half way through when he got call from Big Pooh of Little Brother, who
was in town for a show with Just Blaze. Big Pooh came through the studio, heard the beat, and was just waiting for an invitation to jump on board. The finished result was “Dutch Dalton” named after the All-Star catcher from the Philly’s, and a line in Truck first verse where he says, ‘I’m on my Dutch Dalton”.”

Look out for the track dropping later on this week.

The out for future episodes of Closed Session featuring: Kidz In The Hall x Chip Tha Ripper x Mikkey Halsted, Amada Diva and Tanya Morgan.
