^ what I mean by safe is just that. He didnt want to risk reaching the core audience (the hood) and negate his bigger obligation of appealing to the masses.
^
Jay hasnt rapped for the hood in years…what u talkin bout?
he been rappin for the masses for ages….smh
^ you a fool, Jay managed the balancing act of both for years… Had he not been rapping for the hood, he wouldnt even be talked about in hip hop circles. Step your listening game up

^ ether is right, throwing free concerts for the hood dont change shit, infact it adds to the problem. speaking events, sponsorship, reward programs help the youths.

Ain’t I is harder then most of the shit on BP3. I don’t buy that “it would be phony for him to spit shit like Reasonable doubt…he’s not that type of dude anymore”. If he wanted to, Hov could make a real Hip-Hop album that reached a wide cross section of Jay-Z fans.
He just did it in 07. It was called American Gangster.
Truth is, he just doesn’t want to and he’s paid enough that he doesn’t have to.
_____________________________________________________________
Thats like saying Michael Jordan can hoop like he did in 87…Jay-z literally can’t rap like he did in 96-99…he’s just not as good…rap is a young man’s sport and if he did try to make another reasonable doubt, you and I know that niggas would be saying its wack and not as good.
Jay is just not as good as he once was, (flow wise)…but he’s still good so he plays to his strengths

And all the “cats” riffing off of my comments, yeah, the album ain’t “street”. You soft suburban ass niggas have no clue as to what pops in the “streets”. Every black person isn’t in the hood but enough of them are and there are a lot who remember what it’s about.
Unlike you soft dickriding fucks.
And Thank You is not the best song. Knock it off.

^I kind of disagree with this. I totally agree with having speaking events and sponsoships and shit like that. But having concerts for the hood can do some good. For instance, in my hood last summer they had a car show out there. That shit was beautiful. Not for the cars or the bad ass bitces that were out, but the fact that the hood could come together and enjoy an event peacefully. That shit can help mend fences.

^Most definitely. I think the best thing that can be done for the hoods is to have funding for after-school programs back. When kids don’t have shit to do from 3 to 8 pm, all they’re gonna do is be on the street or doing stupid shit to get in trouble. Basketball programs, computer programs, tutoring, mentoring, homework help, trade, something, anything. Thats what would best help the kids in the hoods
