Yo, I remember not being impressed with it the first time I heard it it. I didnt think it had any power until the last part of the third verse. And the beat was too skeletal. It wasnt epic sounding to me like Takeover. I was the nigga always arguing for Hov’s victory.

Then I got drunk or something one nite, listened to Ether and something happened. I realized that Jay got bodied. I havent looked at either Jay or Nas the same since. Pause.

And yea, Smokin was wack, as was Rule and of course Braveheart Party. Never liked the beat on My Country either.
