^ and when rappers try to fit too many syllables in lines, it doesnt necessarily make for a better flow… A dope flow should melt over the track, not be forced, and should leave you with a blank stare.

it was like Pun lost his flow on Yeah Baby….more than half the tracks on there he got behind the beat on.

I can say that even tho he has one flow, he’s mastered the fuck out of that one flow (which is a talent within itself) it’s only a handful of rappers that can sound the same on every track, no matter what words they use, what the topic of the song is, how many syllables they use, etc. If you can maintain one flow for 10+ years, your a monster

that’s an interesting discussion… what was the best year in hiphop? im going with 95. 94 still had a lot of the fast beats, old school flows and obnoxious basslines, 96 a lot of dudes were already going the jiggy route. 95 was the pinnacle of rap IMHO.

Nikki, yeah, the wayne influence has grown stronger over time but i think Drake & Wayne helped sharpen each other’s flow.

Technically, Drake impresses with each new verse. His wordplay on Digital Girl is veteren-esque.

^Flow wise it was imo. I swear, give these beats to other rappers before jay raps over them, then listen to how jay approach beats, it’s like major league against JV. Perfect example, listen to Jay over “when the money goes” then listen to fab over it, fab sounds so plain over that beat compared to jay it’s a shame.

I think he should retire when he thinks the time is right.

I love “The Black Album” and would like to hear him on that “What More Can I Say” flow one last time. I think he went in on that one and that beat was epic.

I’m still waiting to hear BP3 before I judge it seeing as there are still 11 tracks that I have not heard yet. Hopefully there will be more that are of the same caliber of DOA or better.
