Catalina & About Me are definitely the Dr. Dre tracks, but they aren’t necessarily the best! Of course Dilla insures that!

Respect the soundtrack. Wu wasn’t only about the MC’s, it was the feel created by the production, and since RZA decided he wanted to score movies and cartoons, things have changed. Seems like Rae has found a way to re-open “that chamber” without this being an exclusive RZA production!

I agree on the 21-tracks album being too much. It’s like he’s trying to use the hit-or-miss method and that could end up fuckin’ up the flow of the album altogether.

This is why I give somebody like Rick Ro$$ his props. Shit on him if you want to but that dude pieced together a helluva album. Of course DJ has an elite staff of A&R’s on deck, but at the end of the day it’s the artists’ decision. I’d like to know who got what credits on his album.

^I know you’re speaking from a standom POV, but let me put it to you like this: before DTR, I could really give 2 shits about a Rawse album. Like, I knew the dude had bars but I never even downloaded any material of his before DTR. When the tracks for DTR started leaking daily and posted on NR, I was ANTICIPATING the full album. Money MADE me a fan. Essentially, he and Rae are selling the same product which is slick/fly talk mixed in with the coke raps. But in 2009… and you will probably disagree… but nobody is doing that lane of music better than Big Bawse Man.

I agree on the 21-tracks album being too much. It’s like he’s trying to use the hit-or-miss method and that could end up fuckin’ up the flow of the album altogether.

This is why I give somebody like Rick Ro$$ his props. Shit on him if you want to but that dude pieced together a helluva album. Of course DJ has an elite staff of A&R’s on deck, but at the end of the day it’s the artists’ decision. I’d like to know who got what credits on his album.
