Video: Jay-Z – No Sleep Till Brooklyn (Beastie Boys Cover) + Blueprint 3 Intro
I’ll let YN explain this one because I wasn’t even born when this came out:
In a stirring opener on par with his Oasis shocker at Glastonbury, Hov paid tribute to MCA and the Beastie Boys (who he replaced on this show) with a remake of a classic from Licensed To Ill. It was a cover performance Hip Hop Honors wish they could have. Ha! Good job, Hov. Hey Village Voice, he was listening.
The tribute is followed by Jay-Z’s Brooklyn (We Go Hard.) After the jump, Jay handles Run This Town for dolo, as well as getting into a newly “tweaked” version of the Blueprint 3 intro.

^ damn, that’s not what i meant…
frankly i’m not familiar with the Beastie Boys catalog like that, so I don’t know the relevance of this song or the impact it had when it dropped, or if it still has any relevance. I’m not gonna pretend like I know the words to No Sleep Till Brooklyn or that i could have recognized it when he started playing it
there are other songs or artists that dropped before i was around that i can potentially be an authority on though

Hov ability to interact with the crowd makes him better than kanye peforming..

>> Not tryna sound obsessed or nothin like that
nah you do but the basis is by the time i finished the Jay post it was 3 am and my eyes couldn’t look at the screen any longer. so i said fuck it because i wasn’t trying to entertain all the fuckery and all the jokes then. when i went to sleep it was a joke on Twitter, i wake up and every site has it up. that’s cool though, it’s expected
if i don’t post, you guys don’t get informed and think i’m hiding something (he was a Trending Topic on Twitter by then… there’s nothing to hide) if i do post it’s almost not even worth a post and i’m the one who’s obsessed with his every move, posting his tweets and his boys tweets ensuring you he’s alright
it’s too late to do anything now. i posted the MTV piece in Lite because it covers the slip + the tweets better than any hearsay other websites are using
you think this is what i blog for: http://nahright.com/news/2009/08/01/pics-jay-z-at-all-points-west/#comment-2150932
