i dont understand the marketing strategy of gettin a single poppin MONTHS before an album comes out……chillin is gettin a lot of play on mtv hits and mtv jams, i assume its getting some radioplay, im not sure i dont listen to the radio, but when this album drops months from now, people arent gonna know who this dude is

Wale is not doing himself any favors with this bs. He’s trying to make pop crossover songs, and as much as I want him to be successful, neither song is that good to me (though I will at least allow that this one could grow on me). Making mediocre pop songs is not a good look. The pop audience is not going to latch onto it, and the audience from the mixtapes who know how much talent and potential Wale has/had are just gonna get frustrated.
I think this is the first time a single has made me STOP looking forward to someone’s album. SMH….

Don’t worry, I don’t think this is going to be on Attention Deficit. And yea, I think Gucci just jumped on this without Wale’s consent, at no point in the song does Wale yell out “Gucci!” or acknowledge his presence on the track. He did what Jim Jones did with “I Love College.” And I am still waiting for someone to explain to me how Gucci has as much buzz as he does. Because I could literally sit down and write a verse better than anything Gucci has every done. It is beyond me how this dude made it, and would probably sell a ton of more records that Wale, which is wrong because Wale has legitimate talent. If someone could tell my why Gucci is a relevant artist I would appreciate it. LMAO at the dude that said Silence>Gucci haha

I respect the DMVness, but what makes it pop is the fact that Gucci is on it. Gucci is not DMV. I doubt he even knows what DMV means. It is completely illogical that he would be featured on one of Wale’s singles, seeing as how that goes against pretty much everything Wale (appeared to) stand for.
Wtf, did the label sat him down like: “And so for you next single…. we want you to have a hot feature. So you can pick Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, or… how about Gucci Mane?”
