Video: Red Cafe – Hottest In The Hood
Red Cafe adviser: “Ok, so here’s the strategy: We’re gonna build up a big buzz for the song, release the instrumental, let every rapper and their brother freestyle over it, do several remixes with big name MC’s, drop the mixtape and release behind the scenes footage from the video shoot. Then, just when nobody gives a fuck about the song anymore, and it’s lost any momentum it might have had, we’ll drop the video.”
Red Cafe: “Bet.”

I will admit that I have warmed up to Drake a little bit [||]..especially since im really digging the Throw It remix…
but SFG was ultra wack to me…too much singing. A few good tracks, but overall mostly throw away…imho

when Drake first started rapping seriously he used to post in a forum I used to be in heavy at startrakmusic.com and son used to get shitted on daily and without end. There is no comparison you can make with Drake as far as growth as an artist. This kid really went from being super average to, conceptually, almost top tier pretty fuckin quick. He could stand to sharpen up as far as technical skills but the nigga can make great songs about shit that people want to hear while other internet favs jerk off to how many syllables they can get in a 16

I don’t hate drake that much. I think he has talent & skill, but SFG was boring to me.
I’ll probably DL his album just to see & be able to make an honest opinion about his career.
July 27th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
SFG was dope… but drake is above average, madd decent but not great …but i think hes intelligent enough to step it up on his upcoming project…one thing that might get in his way is his label situation , egos , hate, overshadowing…etc…

Phonte been whining on records since forever. Nigga gets a bachelors degree and feels it puts him ahead of everyone in rap ol’ smarty art ass nigga. He got a lot of spit to him but obviously there’s a disconnect with his listeners because he hasn’t achieved the same level of success as Aubrey…..and they both had no other buzz than the one they created for themselves.
^^
lol true…
but i look at it as, Phonte the rapper already was behind in the race because he was part of a group, let alone the fact that talented spitters have to work twice as hard to get their foot in the door a lot of times.
then his pet projects with F.E. ultimately ended up with the neo-soul sound because of Nicolay’s production.
he should have distinguished himself outside of LB a long time ago.

July 27th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
TML is gonna be a good album as long as it’s honest like SFG. Don’t take yourself too seriously and make fluff music to sell records cause that hasn’t worked since idk, 2004.
Lurky >> Jerky

it was cool, but …. it was more like a family trip than a vacation …
next time, lil man cant go … he took the vacate out of the vacation …

not for nothing but this is the type of shit McDonalds thinks black people wanna see in their commercials. My godmother has a consulting firm (singlesource consulting for all you ceo/exec lurkers, get at her) and she worked closely with pepsi and mcdonalds and she says this is the type of coony shit that almost makes it on tv.

yeah but rapper now can’t put an album
TWO WEEKS AFTER THEIR SINGLE’S BUZZ
that will be the best position to drop ya LP !!!
but if u don’t have an LP recorded and ready to
THAT STRATEGY AINT BAD TO CREATE A NAME
AND A REPUTATION WITH A DOPE STREET SINGLE

The Big Mac!
I’d hit that
(c) actual McDonald’s commercial that was pulled after airing for a few days when they realized what “I’d hit that” meant.

I got a couple shits to vent about
1-Red Cafe and Diddy should promote some kind of alcoholic drink named “Red Cafe Patron” to help w/ his records sales.Lol
2- He was much doper in 2006/07 he needs way better street records and maybe more Fab features. See “Buck Buck” w/ KGR,G Malone,Sheek Louch
3-Fuk what a nigga said about “So Far Gone” being better than “Food and Liquor” you must be crazy if you believe that!!
Im tired of this record honestly
