Former two-division world champion Vernon Forrest was shot and killed Saturday night during an attempted carjacking, promoter Gary Shaw said.

He was shot seven or eight times as he chased at least two men who had tried to steal his Jaguar as he put air in his tires at an Atlanta gas station, Lt. Keith Meadows said, according to the radio station.

The problem is that it seems like Jay-Z (in particular, but a lot of rappers in general) can’t rap well about much other than moving dope. Thats the contrast between Kingdom Come and American Gangster. Coke rap Hov is more convincing than post-Coke rap Hov. It’s the same thing with brothers Thornton, if there was a nationwide crack rap ban, I doubt Til the Casket drops would be anything worth checking for. Or at leasts that’s the impression rappers are starting to give. I know Jay is deeper than that, but he’s not doing a very good job of proving it.

I think it’s about time Hov drops the “no pen” schtick at starts actually crafting his verses. The stuff he’s done recently, it’s pretty obvious he’s not writing much, and its not a good look.

Hov is starting to set a bad example for rap cats as far as what is expected lyrically from MCs. He’s still THE JAY-Z, no matter how wack a verse he drops, but he is starting to tarnish his legacy. I LIKE the songs as well. They are good SONGS. I’m talking about the quality of Jay-Z’s verses. He is spitting very little compelling material, and this is disappointing when the Hov of a different era had gems in EVERY LINE. Nowadays its like we’re lucky if theres one gem in the whole verse, or even the whole song. Nobody wants to see that from Hov. That’s the only logical explanation I can come up with for Jay doing what he is doing right now. I don’t really think that Hov can’t tell a good verse from a bad one, as mentioned before. I don’t think Hov is INCAPABLE of writing good verses, because every now and again he will drop something good. How else would you explain Hov’s inconsistency despite his talent. Either he is so blind/egotistical that he can’t evaluate the quality of his own work (there is definitely a case for this), or he is just being lazy and dropping corny/wack rhymes because he wants to be one take Hov/MC No Penz, and that happens to be the b.s. that came out.

I personally am pretty sure HOV knows that his verses on Run This Town we’re anything spectacular. “All black everything…. all black everything” is almost Mike Jones territory. Hov knows better.

Before 2004 HOV was at his best and you can say he was one of the top 5. After that retirement b.s he just got dull yet still had some hits but after ’04 he can still be considered in the top 10 but not in top 5. Right now the dude is getting at that point where ok he is just getting old and I think after BP3 he will realize he’s gotta get into that head honcho status, keep on mentoring rappers he thinks has potential, and step away from rapping for some time but still do everything else that makes him successful. Dude is living good right now and should just officially settle down. If he keeps on releasing albums people will really start to get bored of Jay and will forget about his greatness until he does something in the future that will have people talking about him and who knows how long that would take. That live nation contract crap is ridiculous.

After 808′s Yeezy definitely proved he is a good rapper which he always was. If people weren’t ignorant fucks they would be able to see that he is one of the best in the game today and they gotta realize this dude will most likely surpass big brother someday really soon (5th album) if Jay continues to release songs like the ones after 2004. Maybe Jay might just pass the torch very soon anyways.

Rihanna’s voice ain’t that bad. People just hating cuz her shit is what 15 year old kiss fm listeners spazz over. It ain’t her voice that makes the song ok it’s just everything excluding Kanye.
