Video: Murs Interview w/ Fresh Ink Online
Anyone familiar with hip hop’s Murs knows he loves comic books. He raps about ‘em, he chats about ‘em, and he freestyles about ‘em (just check his Freestyle 101). Now he gets a chance to review ‘em as he fills in for his favorite host, the great Blair Butler, on Fresh Ink Online as she darts down to San Diego for Comic-Con. In fact, by the time you read this, Murs will have joined her at the famed comic book convention, but not before chatting about some of his favorite comics, including X-Factor, Queen and Country, DMZ, Black Lightning, Scott Pilgrim, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova, and Red Robin.
Plus, make sure to listen carefully for Murs’ controversial stand on one of the top writers in comics today. Is there a rap-comic beef a-brewin’? Will caps get peeled? Likely not, but it sure is fun to imagine such a thing, ain’t it?
Yes, you’ll soon see this crazy-haired rapper knows his stuff and you can quiz him on his comic book knowledge on this summer’s Rock The Bells tour, where he’ll be serving as an MC…and likely serving some MCs with his deadly rhyme skills.

Game promises a “never-ending” battle with Jay-Z during a call-in to the Boodah Brothers radio show in Virginia Beach.
And also offers his opinion on Hov’s virility…
“Jay got that problem. He don’t want to get old. It’s cool to get old. But a lot of people have that problem, especially when they don’t have children. But he don’t got no children. I don’t know what’s up with that. Maybe he ain’t fertile.”

Me to holmes, I’m not even gonna sit here and front, when ti first dropped i thought it was pretty good but knowing his capabilities, i was a tad bit disappointed. I still maintain that the album is good but not the follow up sophomore LP i personally wanted.
I think he tried to heard to fit the mold of a traditional album, like he tried to do to many different types of songs (ie that Rock and In My Sleep Shit). Now the In My Sleep shit could of been amazing but he was off beat a bit and the beat was too uptempo IMO.
Another thing is he cut like 4 songs off Padded Room and put them on Halfway House which IMO was detrimental to the final outcome of Padded Room.
In conclusion, Budden still put some AMAZING songs on PR…

Who knows though, maybe by linking up with the other SH members, he met new producers and will now use his newly acquired resources, well at least i hope.

I actually thought In My Slep & Exxes were two of the stronger tracks. Joe needs to make more music that appeals to the masses, which I’m sure he’s still capable of.
Stop making music for the stans & make music for the people.
If he can do that & manage to keep his mouth shut for a minute (not likely) he may actually be able to get peoples minds off of the bullshit & back on the music, where it should be.

If anybody seriously thinks Kanye killed Jay on that Run This Town track, you need to reevaluate your lyrical criteria (no stannery). Somebody tell me, honestly, what line Kanye spit that you actually thought was dope? With the Eminem verse, Em dropped a classic verse against a very good Jay verse that got eclipsed. Kanye did not have any truly notable lines in that verse (and I am a Kanye fan since pre-Dropout). Jay didn’t drop anything mind blowing either, but his lines are definitely SMARTER than Kanye’s. It’s a sad day in hip hop when intelligent rhyming is considered by “hip hop heads” to be murked by flashy but otherwise unremarkable wordplay.
“Riding with their Dillingers/ I’ll get more in Depp If you boys really real enough” >>>>> “Butt big enough to swallow a G string/ And up front she got bee stings”

Amp you should check the whole Thousand Miles and Running as well as The Mixtape About Nothing. Wale is better than the single he put out. That Gaga isht was extremely disappointing. And Nike Boots does get slept on until people realize that he’s not talking about shoes.

To each his own, but he needs to make songs like that & songs like what he’s doing with Slaughterhouse on his albums. He’s been on the emo tip too long now. Get back to making good tunes.

I have both of the tapes you mentioned and Nike Boots is my favorite song from him. My issue was all the hype surrounding him when I hadn’t seen any evidence he could succed on a commercia/mainstream level.
I mean, I’ve read cats say that Wale was the next Jay-Z.
