Yep. I’ve acutually been giving all three of Jeezy’s albums heavy rotation the past couple of weeks. Thug Motivation isnt quite as dope as I remember, and The Inspiration is actually a lot better than I remember. I feel the Recession is a combination of the best elements of both, the anthemic nature of the first mixed with the more clever wordplay and “gothic” beats of the second. But all of his LP’s are really dope though.

M.O.P is just as dope as EPMD, Mobb, and Gangstarr (not quite as dope as Kast tho) but them being ugly out of shape drunks really hindered their career.

I see The Recession really resonated with you, cool, but i think it’s his third best joint. I kind of feel like he needs to start thinkin’ about changing direction sonically not content wise because he did attempt to switch it up a tad with his last effort. While i still love the production, it is becoming a bit redundant. It wouldn’t hurt if his next joint he veered in the soulful direction or even some rock samples….really anything different from these anthems…

I’m sure he can stick to the same formula and make another dope album but to stay a float in this here music industry you need to evolve continously (ie Kanye, Jay, T.I., Ricky, Wayne…ect)

****According to WebMD, the cravings totally subside after 72 hrs…or at least, the chemical requirement does…after that, it’s all behavioral/mental…I quit newports before, like 10 yrs ago ,cold turkey…shit felt like Trainspotting, lol….

I agree with the above sentiment. I’m just of the opinion that that’s exactly what he did with this album. On the surface it sounds similar in content but there’s an added pathos, and ironic humor that wasnt in his flow before. As far as the production, tracks like Vacation, Put On, and Who Dat (along with others) sound like nothing dude has ever rapped on to me. But hey, opinions are like assholes right?

Yeah you right but they all still had that athem feel to it and there were more tracks that sounded similar then not. Also, i do agree that he did switch it up as far as content goes, which was a major plus for him and a practical move.

In conclusion, Jeezy has one of the strongest 3 album catalogues known to man.

True story, years ago, before I was married, my homie had to work in Cali for like a week. He asked me to make sure his car didn’t get no tickets, so I had to move it on that alternate side of the street schedule. Three days before homie got back, I went to the back of the local newsstand and copped about 4 gay pRon mags (I know, [||]) and spread them all over his dash board and rear window for passerby’s to peep.
