Audio: Buckshot Talks Rock The Bells Tour
Basically, he’s not happy with the order that some artists performed and the fact that some artists were relegated to the smaller “Paid Dues” stage rather than the main stage. I definitely hear what he’s saying, but I would also add that the best or most popular artists aren’t always the ones that close out the show. Word to Jim Jones closing out Summer Jam. And that’s not even a shot at Jimmy, but how does he perform after someone like Mary J. Blige?
Jean Grae also concurred with Buck’s sentiments on Twitter, albeit for different reasons.

Went to rock the bells up in boston last saturday, the paid dues stage (the smaller one) had a much better sound system. Buck and KRS put on a better set than most on the main stage.

>>Buck and KRS put on a better set than most on the main stage.
and that’s really all that matters.
I hear Buck though. If I was running a tour, I would never in my life try to put Buckshot, much less KRS-One, anywhere except the main stage.

As long as the sound system working, there’s an audience and there happy your performing don’t complain. What else you want, you really need that extra 50-100 people over where you at to make you feel better. This game ain’t really about respect it’s about business, don’t ever forget that shit. Otherwise you’ll end up looking bitter time and time again.

yo honestly people have to stop catching feelings, some acts warrant the main stage, some do not. it’s all about balance. if a main-stage act comes up and the promoter thought it would be a big draw but it’s not, everyone takes a bathroom break. meanwhile if you think someone is side-show status and you throw them on a side stage and it’s a mob scene, you know you fucked up. if buckshizzle is performing on the side and there’s people killing each other to watch him, then the promoter fucked up. but if it’s a cool, calm little crowd then the promoter did the right thing. old heads shouldn’t be aggie because they’re not on the main stage. any rapper who wants 20 years of success is 20 times an idiot. and i fux with buckshot heavy and i remember the old buckshot the BDI, the general if i was you i wouldn’t try, jawnts off the funk flex tapes and so let’s be clear, i been fuckin with dukes since forever, but it’s not like he got a buzz like cudi or some shit. i swear these cats got chips on their shoulder the size of a fucking tree.

I feel Buck on this shit. I’m going to RTB in LA when it comes through…and by the looks of the lineup something fucked up like this was gonna happen. I might be wrong, but shit looks like Sage Francis, La Coka Nostra and a couple other suspect acts are gonna be on the main stage. Evidence & Alc, Buckshot and Slum Village are all listed below them and there’s only so many acts. They better not be on that Paid Dues stage.

Fuck all of you. Asher can rap.

Honestly, saw Rock the Bells in DC (Merriweather) and Buckshot was the best act all day, with MOP a close second. Nas sucked, Big Boi sucked, Busta was meh….Bama looked like Larry Holmes out there. Nas couldn’t even finish a verse.
July 21st, 2009 at 2:59 am
I went to DC @ Merriweather…WuTang on the second stage was doooppe. Wu and MOP had mosh pits and shit during their sets. Mosh pits at a hip hop concert! And they were packed 50 yards deep.
Sage and B. Dolan got about 12 white people. No love. People just don’t have a clue. It should be these two saying “fuck RTB”
TECH KILLED IT though. Blew everybody off the main stage.
July 21st, 2009 at 3:14 am
second stage was where it was at in beantown buck and krs completely shut that shit down, krs came in the crowd and formed a circle, it was bananas but it wore me out so early i couldnt even bangout wit mop, definitly need to adjust the lineup, damien marley performance is worth the price of the ticket alone and ive never even owned any of his music, DUDE WAS SINGIN SUM BOB!!!
