Inspectah Deck emerges during Raekwon’s set at Rock The Bells to rally Wu fans in a communal “Fuck Joe Budden.” This continues a beef, which began with Budden incredulously questioning Method Man’s lyrical prowess after being ranked higher than Budden himself in a “Best Rapper Ever List” released online by Vibe Magazine. While Method Man neglected to respond to the insult, Inspectah Deck released a song “House Nigga” where he calls Joe Budden a “blog thug,” saying “They don’t respect you outside Jersey!” Joe Budden’s response: “While Inspectah Deck may be considered a legend for the one great verse he had in his 30 year career, it’s 2009.” Raekwon sits down with UGHH’s Van Stylez after the performance to discuss his roll in the continuing fued.

i don’t understand taking budden’s side on this one, anyway. he randomly calls out meth. deck replies. budden gives a passive-aggressive “i won’t reply but i’m sliding in disses saying you only had one good verse in your whole career” (when any respectable east coast hip-hop fan with two ears knows deck has more than one good verse).
and then budden’s hilarious reply to this? that he was “looking” for deck after he made his statement? are we supposed to believe that deck ran off the stage and hid somewhere, being a six foot plus dark skinned black guy in a sea of mostly white hip-hop fans? if budden was feeling so gully, why didn’t he rush to the backstage area to meet deck as soon as he came offstage? better yet, should we believe that deck was impossible to find before his performance as well?
these rappers tell stories very badly.
what is wrong about this whole scenario, like every rap beef, is grown men are going to their fans, on stage and/or on camera to air out beefs that should be discussed in private between the aggrieved parties.
i’m also confused as to why raekwon would let deck say all that on stage when meth explicitly asked rae to stay out of it (where one would logically assume meth also wouldn’t want rae to bring deck onstage to hop in the middle of the whole thing either)
but all of that would be too much like maturity.
