    Kid rock did like 18k first week in the late 90′s then he released some single & his shit ended up going like 5x platinum

    Of course it isnt. But that’s not going to happen. Pop culture is filled with artists that have shitty first weeks and go on to sell millions (Maroon 5), hell, Thriller didnt even debut at #1.

    But hiphop albums don’t make those type of sales leaks historically. Labels tend to work rap releases for a much shorter period of time, and radio is more hesitant to gamble on putting no-lable endorsed album cuts on their playlists.
