Jay-Z Confirms, Explains Sony & Atlantic Deals
Billboard’s Mariel Concepcion recently spoke to Hov and got some clarification on the deals he just closed with Atlantic and Sony.
“Sony is Roc Nation. That’s where Roc Nation’s going through,” Jay-Z told Billboard.com on Friday (June 29).
As for the deal he recently signed with Atlantic, he clarifies that it is a one-off situation for his upcoming album, “Blueprint 3,” slated for a September 11th release.
“That’s pretty much just for this specific album. Roc Nation — we’re experts in marketing and making records. But we do distribution deals,” he says. “On this one, we’re working directly with the Atlantic staff, which is Julie [Greenwald], Lyor [Cohen], Kevin [Liles] and Kyse [Mike Kyser]. For the rest of the Roc Nation artists, we did a distribution deal with Sony.
Sony must have brought a pretty sweet deal to the table for Jay to pass up a reunion with Lyor, Kev Liles and Mike Kyser. I mean, just look at all of the bromance oozing out of that pic up there.

I played the demo on my PS3 and I didn’t really have too much of a problem with it but then again I only played it breifly.
You might just be uncomfortable with the stick positioning [ll] on the PS3 contoller. I have the game for my 36O and it’s great.
When I fight I block and move at the same time and make sure you keep an eye on your stamina. It goes down as you block hits and throw punches so find your balance when moving and blocking.
When it goes down about 25% [or less depending if I repect my opponent] I back away if I need to and move to the side not backwards. That way he won’t catch you on the ropes to do further damage to your stamina which weakens your punches, guard, and slows response.
Practice your blocking speed too. I know you’re going to block your hear alot but don’t neglect your body [ll].
Muhamad Ali fu*ks me up on GOAT level because he switches up his targets so quickly. work on your ablility to block as many random shots as possible to optimize your oportunities for big counter shot windows.
Also, try to stay away from haymakers. . . you’ll get yourself styled on.

Use jabs more often. They’re effective over time and opens the door for major opportunities down the line because they work on closing up the eyes thus slowing their response. They save your energy/stamina too.
Doubble up on your jabs. Make them quick though and be prepared to black and move at the same time.
This works great on noobs. Their instict is to react and when they do you’ll probably already be out of the way. That’s when you hit ‘em with the hook or what ever punch appropiate.

Real talk. But the labels aren’t pushing NY artists like that. They realize that as big of a market New York is, the rest of the country has been brainwashed into thinking that Bama/Trap/Swag rap is the only thing poppin. That’s why I think B3, BISD & a new Ruff Ryders project are gonna be crucial to putting NYC back where it needs to be…on top.

Maino’s album really surprised me. it’s not a great album by any means, but it’s a solid effort from a cat who’s taken full advantage of the buzz he got from the mixtapes & DVD circuit. To be a marginally talented MC, Maino’s done pretty good for himself.
