I respect all of these niggas, really I do, but does that mean I have to listen to them? That’s all i’m asking
LF: I’m listening to this drake “so far gone” mixtape, i’ve at the 3rd song and this shit sounds like 808 the lightskin version
… he isn’t as great as some people make him out to be, and he does sing a lot, but at least he can sing without autotune so I can’t blame him for appealing to the bitches, but if you keep listening you will be impressed with a handful of songs where he just raps and even when he sings the hook and raps it’s still pretty impressive, give it a coupe of spins though to get past all the singing it should grow on you, thats what happened to me, I listened and was like it’s OK, then went back and listened again and thought it was really good with some skippers, but you won’t catch me acting like this is the best mixtape ever or dudes the nicest breathing ….
on that note:
rapping about how hard you are >>> battling imaginary mcs
real talk.
=================================
…. and 24 hours to live was the only one with a concept, all great classic tracks but it was just rappers going in, which was my point …
^^
yeah but they were single tracks on albums with other type of tracks. as i said…they wouldnt carry even a mixtape.

not to mention when budden releases his shit people just say I don’t wanna hear that introspective heartfelt emo garbage, now it’s wheres the introspective concepts smh
Naw my dudes, only reason I made the chain comment was cause sleep (I think) made me notice it, and it was funny, but truthfully I don’t even do chains, give me my dog tags and i’m good, word to my old club pictures.
So no shots at AZ cause that’s my fucking dude (pause) “I just wanna be there” walked me thru alot of crazy nights

you ride for max B and gucchi mane, what the fuck type of concepts and substance do they come with ….
^Ones that these 4 geeks don’t, but yoú wouldn’t understand. re-read my first comment
>>>I’ma a concept first, lyrics second, beats third type of guy, I can tolerate a song with a wack ass beat and good lyrics, or a song with a great beat, wack lyrics, or a song with average lyrics, and a great concept.
Now think about that, if maxy makes a song talking bout grand cru, more than likely the beat is heat, the bars is above average, no earth breaking concept, all these things average out for me to like a song. Everysong don’t have to be “one mic” but every song can’t be battle tested either.
point blank they gotta make something extra special for me to even care about what there doing.
OK, fair enough for you, but everything they have released is straight heat rock and is exactly the type of shit hip-hop needs, no faking just taking it back to rhyming

That J. Cole mixtape is nice. It has a few stand out joints on there, he also picked some dope beats to freestyle over that really accentuated the mixtapes cohesion.
@ Cold, but we ain’t heard the album yet, everything they released so far was just to be thrown onto the internet, eskay said One had seriously club potential, so why jump to conclusions there won’t be more move on’s on the album ?
I was actually one of the people that like 808′s so I wasn’t dissing it, but he really does sound like baby kanye, from the flow, to the type of music he’s making. Well, 808′s is getting kinda stale, so I guess this will do for my late night, ultra drunk thinking bout my ex’s nights, lol

word, so now we get full onslaught lyrism, in exchange for substance… wheres the balance. Maybe the album would have more cuts like move on.
I’m saying a freestyle is one thing, these niggas are all known for their bar game. But all these niggas have made good songs too, cept for maybe crooked… Still though, theres no reason to think these niggas didnt get the memo and made an album full of battling “imanginary mc’s”.
^ the debate was based on the probability nothing more or less.

….. i do to, it’s not something i will throw on in the whip or at home, but it’s good to listen to every now and then and listen to in the club I wasn’t saying your hated 808′s but just pointing out Drake can sing without it so I can’t blame him for using it to appeal to the ladies, I agree he does sound like a baby kanye with better bars though …
