    @ Boosie

Just because you buy the album doesn’t mean its a classic retard, thats pretty much waht you’re saying

And yes an underground rapper can be one of the best ever, Maybe he just has poor beat selection, that doesn’t eliminate anything from his lyricism or skills. Most people that listen to rap now a days listen for the beats, something they can dance too, they could care less about the lyrics. Why do you think rappers like Flo Rida, Ace Hood etc. are huge? Be logical dude, people don’t put lyrics on the pedestal like they use too, thats why all these wack rappers get big, they get one lucky connection, get a catchy beat, and say a whole bunch of bullshit over the track, and then get club play. No lyricist like Joell Ortiz, Royce etc.. will get played in a club because thats not the kind of music they make.
    __________________________________________________________

I been half playing with this cat with this argument, but I’m going to end this purist’s nahright career.

I didn’t buy the album dumbass. I thought the Carter 2 was decent just like YOU thought it was. But I understand why MILLIONS of people call it a classic. Get off your fucking geographic high horse. You prolly think Ecstatic is an instant classic.

NO and undeground rapper can’t be top 10 dead or alive rapper. How can you be top anything if no one is willing to buy or listen to your shit. Understand the logic homey

Most people have ALWAYS listened to whatever type of music for dance and beats and Hip-hop is just another genre of music that people want to dance too. Lyrics is not everything and is not a trump card. Dude you only think there is one way to make music. the 90’s got you warped son.

Joell ortiz wont make it in the club cause he can’t do and is unable. Jay is able to do it while still being a better underground mc than Joell.

If you’re great you’re great at all Levels. Joell ortiz is only good at that type of music which why he’ll never be top 20. Get a grip dude, you’re a 90’s nerd, who think there’s only one type of music to make. You dont understand music at all.

  35. Doug Says:

    @ boosie

    A) I’m on no geographic high horse, I’m in the south, I have to hear the same bull shit all day on the radio, and while there hot songs, they aren’t up to the standards of what I consider the best rap music. And No I don’t think the Ecstatic is even good, I like like 3 or 4 tracks off of it.

    b) And I don’t think about one way to make music because I listen to every genre, and when I get into Hip-Hop it gets sensitive because people MISTAKE the song for the skill. You have people saying Soulja Boy, Flo Rida, etc. are some of the best rappers ever. You don’t think there is a problem with that? Soulja Boy is mad talented, and Flo Rida has a sick flow, but when you are talking about the true elements of what rapping is about and you’re placing these guys with the likes of Jay, Big, Nas, Pac, etc., that is a huge problem. I have to hear fucking retards every day try and compare Wayne, Young Dro, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, etc. to Jay-Z, Thats like saying Kenny G. is half as talented as John Coltrane.

And No Ortiz isn’t a club rapper, but lyrically he is better than most of the rappers out today. Street shit doesn’t get played on the radio anymore, its only club shit, thats what im saying, where is the balance? Hip-Hop is the only genre where the radio plays the bullshit, and Hip-Hop’s name suffers because of it, the real shit, the shit that helps people get through their every day struggle, where is it? It’s on nahright.com, but is it on Wild 98.7 in Tampa, FL? No. That’s my point, I don’t give a fuck about a million people thinking the Carter II is a classic, because its not, it doesn’t hold a jockstrap to the real Classics, much less many many albums released since 2000. That’s all i’m saying. Agree with me or not, I don’t give a fuck, but you can’t sit here and tell me that A) I don’t know music, because I listen to EVERYTHING. B) That you can understand that the Carter II is a classic, because it isn’t. C) that i’m warped because I think lyrics are the most important element in a rap song. D) you can’t be mad because I care about what the majority of people think about the best of the best is from my favorite genre, when in reality i’ve listened to more rap music than 75% (maybe more) of the people that listen to hip-hop. I went back all the way to Rappers Delight and listened to a lot of shit all the way to today, and 94-01 is an untouchable era (and hip-hop is still young) but 94-01 in rap is like Dimaggios 56 game hit streak, it can be flirted with, but it won’t be broken (imo).

  36. Joe 88 Says:

yeah boosie, old no limit is classic, that’s not even a debate. I know so many niggas that got tanks on there arm, niggas really felt like soilders when no limit was up & running. They banned the song “no limit soilders” from all baltimore clubs cause fights would break out every time sillk started rapping, I was like 14-13 in 98 & just hoping off the porch so no limit holds a special spot in my heart.

I get mad when niggas say they was wack. I almost deleted all lil wayne from my itunes when he said no limit was wack. no limit filled that void for the thugs when pac died, that’s why niggas loved there shit so much

why you mad cause another nigga more popular. If you able to hear all of ortiz’s music what you mad for?

  64. Doug Says:

    @ Boosie

While I agree with you at what you’re saying, I didn’t say that just the South was wack, because shit, there are a ton of NY wack rappers, as well as Cali wack rappers etc. It’s just irritating to not hear the best shit on the radio. Like have you heard that new UNI & Fashawn joint “Pulp Fiction Pt. 1″, like why can’t shit like that get any spins on the radio? That’s creating that balance, and Hip-Hop’s the only genre that doesn’t have that. And why is that? Probably because the Rap industry blows, as we’ve already learned from how many shitty A&R’s there are, they don’t let these guys make the music they want to make, instead its alll this formula bull shit you hear on the radio song after song after song, and then two hours go by, and its the same 20 songs over and over again. Thats my issue.

  65. Doug Says:

why you mad cause another nigga more popular. If you able to hear all of ortiz’s music what you mad for?

    ^^
And i’m not mad that he is more popular, i’m mad because people think Gucci is a better rapper than Joell, and then those people just brush it off like nothing, and won’t listen to what the dudes saying, like When Joell rips a track like “Say It” and then Gucci Mane just goes on a track and says stupid ass shit like
    “Bricks
    All white bricks
    Off white bricks
    Light tan bricks
Just hit a lick, For 50 more bricks
Balling like a bitch, with all these bricks
    Bricks
    36 zips
    That’s a whole chick
Wanna bad bitch? Gotta have bricks
    Yea that make sense
    Yea I make hits
    But I still take bricks”

And people still claim that he’s better than Ortiz in just drives me crazy cause I know five year olds who can write a verse like that.
