Ironman was monumental…it redefined hip hop for me. Camay, Cappa’s verse on Winter Warz, Black Jesus…

Ironman is in my personal top 10 albums.

tie for number 1: Rakim and KRS- because without them, half the rappers wouldnt exist. Plus they catolog is consisting of at least 3 classics

3: Pac: too many rappers took his style and lines and flipped em and bounced them

    4: Jay z

    5: interchange big or nas

Dude , just admit you don’t care for lil wayne or hate to like him. Get over it carter 2 is or will be a classic. You can’t control what millions of people feel.

whats a true rap fan? one that only listens to reasonable doubt and illmatic? You can’t see past your own biases.
    ————————————————————–
Um I like some Wayne, I still bump The Carter, Dedication 2, and Drought 3 every now and then, plus some of his vintage jams “Block is Hot” “The Corner” “Everything” “Way of Life” etc. I used to be a huge Cash Money fan, so don’t tell me i’m biased retard. I listen to way more than Reasonable Doubt and Illmatic, those are just my favorite two albums. I just know that commercial rap is bullshit, which is exactly what Lil Wayne is making right now, he sold out, thats the fact, thats why I lost a lot of respect for him. And find me the millions of people that feel that the Carter II is a classic.

MMLP had congress sucking the balls of hiphop. Not since 2 live crew has that happened

    ^^
That’s because the all-powerful GLADD lobbied Congress to do so. It had nothing to do with the quality of the music, so I’m not sure what the point is here…

  23. Plug Says:

Cats dont understand that the Carter 2 was the last of the New Orleans sound. New Orleans is gone. Listen to the Carter 3. That mess sounds like some New York ish. The Carter 2 is a classic because it was like the end of an era of music . that New Orleans sound will forever be missed. word life

  24. Joe 88 Says:

    The eminem show > MMLP

The eminem show is his best album by far, the only album I would listen to at any time, I gotta be in the mood to listen to the MMLP, I can’t wake up and turn on “i’ma kill you” or “criminal”

Truthfully, I think if eminem was black he would be the GOAT, simply because his topic matter would be so different, but hey, that’s just my opinion

*Put the mask on him and son starts crying*
*nurse comes out in surgical mask calls his name*
*Dr enters room in surgical mask and examines son* (starting to wonder why I dont have a mask)
*Dr says fever and red eyes could mean flu so he orders a fast flu test*
*I explain his eyes are red because he was crying after putting on the mask*
*dr says if he tests positive for flu i have to give him the names of everyone in the house*
*45 minutes later i get a call saying the fast flu test was negative*

the millions of people who bought his album and downloaded all his mixtapes….and the majority of people below the mason dixon line….

Lil wayne sold out? define selling out. If thats the case Nas, Jay, and all others had sold out…Biggie even sold out too…

You can’t be a top all time without being able to make music that everyone likes and cater to all audiences while sounding good…

the hottest underground mc can’t be top 10. That nigga has to be heard by more than 100 people. Thats like niggas saying another nigga down the street is better than Jordan.

^you need more B.G in your life. speaking of B.G when is that mixtape dropping? And imo C2 sounded more like a up north record, still had that down south feel, but it seems like it was aimed to go in a different direction since this was his first album w/o manny

Because it was the last doesn’t mean it is the best, The Quality of music on C2 is not classic, I’m talking about the music, not that it is the last. That’s like saying if Jay-Z or Eminem were to die, that American Gangster would be Jay’s best album and Relapse would be Em’s best album, which it would be entirely blasphemy.

lol. for one BG been livin up here for 10 years now. two, there were a gang of manny fresh beats on C2. maybe he didnt get the credit for them but come on. I know a manny beat when i hear it

    @ Boosie

Just because you buy the album doesn’t mean its a classic retard, thats pretty much waht you’re saying

And yes an underground rapper can be one of the best ever, Maybe he just has poor beat selection, that doesn’t eliminate anything from his lyricism or skills. Most people that listen to rap now a days listen for the beats, something they can dance too, they could care less about the lyrics. Why do you think rappers like Flo Rida, Ace Hood etc. are huge? Be logical dude, people don’t put lyrics on the pedestal like they use too, thats why all these wack rappers get big, they get one lucky connection, get a catchy beat, and say a whole bunch of bullshit over the track, and then get club play. No lyricist like Joell Ortiz, Royce etc.. will get played in a club because thats not the kind of music they make.
