Curtis Says We’re Too Focused on Sales
HOLY SHIT. I can barely type right now because I’m laughing too hard. During an interview with Billboard about his collaboration with reggaeton group Wisin Y Yandel, Curtis offered up this gem about the state of Hip-Hop:
What I fell in love with and inspired me to get into hip-hop is dwindling away. I’d like to be a representation of that, because there isn’t much of that left. I think people are so conscious of the numbers they’re not being creative anymore.
REALLY CURTIS? Is that the problem? And who’s fucking fault is that? I mean, let’s just look at the collaboration that prompted this interview. You’re gonna sit there and tell me you hopped on a reggaeton song with these two asshats for the love of Hip-Hop? Of course you did. Of course it wasn’t for the check.
I’ve heard some absurd shit come out of this guy’s mouth in the past few years, but this is like absurdity incarnate. The funny shit is, if it was anybody else making that comment, it might actually make sense.
