But if Just and Ye never made another record, 10 years from now it would be ok to say their top 10. It has become taboo to say certain things in hip hop.
Just because someone was one of the originators, it doesn’t mean there predecessors aren’t going to surpass them, i mean it’s fuckin’ inevitable.
I never subscribed to the theory of not comparing one to another because of their so called “legendary” status. If someone is better then someone, then that’s just it. PERIOD.

Just is already on the fringe. The argument for Ye, I think, is that he’s held down an entire decade, while altering his style. Ain’t a lot of dudes that can say that.
And who are you taking before Ye, no argument? Premo, RZA, Quik, who else?

In some ways your rite, but in an the aspect of influence your wrong. I mean personally rite now Kanye > Dre in terms of producing, but without Xplosive who knows where Kanye would be rite now.

The audience lack of interest in Mos Def disgusts me.
June 6th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
it took some major coercion to get those kids to stand up while Mos was TEARING the MIC UP … the youth is lost.
If it was Jim Jones or Souldja Boy they woulda had to cordon off the dam stage … i wish i could spit in each one of their faces.
and LOL’z to whoever said ” Activviiiaaaaaa” lol

man, FUCK 106 and all those uneducated kids that had to be coerced to stand up for Mos. BET is so lost with it’s “hip-hop.” The dude is a hip-hop LEGEND, and those kids look like they have no idea who he is.
