Video: Kanye West: “I’m the Michael Jordan Of Rapping”
Say what you will about Yeezy, he’s actually a great rapper. Luckily, it’s in these moments of doubt that he pulls through with something like Graduation, so I’m looking forward to hearing what he’s gonna do next. Seriously, this, the new Common album and Blueprint 3 is what the kids have been yearning for.
“I kill that rap sh–, that’s what I do,” he said of his upcoming opus. “Lyrics right now, they’re awes-mazing. They’re basically untouchable. I’m about to take it to a whole ‘nother level. I’d be scared if I was not me.”
Kanye said he’s always making an album, because he comes up with lyrics just by having conversations with people. He still doesn’t write his rhymes down and hasn’t in six years. The composing process is obviously working out for him.
“As far as rapping goes, how can I say this? Jordan, Michael Jackson — it’s what I do,” West told us recently comparing his greatness on the mic to what the Mikes do in their respective arenas. “It’s time for me to bust another rap album.” [||]
Very good news to me (the regular-season-Lebron James of blogging).

I want to hear the new beats he’s gonna be making…vocally 808′s is awful but the beats are insaaaaaaaaaaaaaane.
LF: I was listening to College Dropout yesterday and kinda cringed on how outdated the drums sound at times. It’s still dope…but some of the drums didn’t have enough to them. Like if he went back and reworked them that shit would be amazing.

June 2nd, 2009 at 9:04 pm
KanYe has been hard for a minute and he has worked his way up from the bottom to the top. He ain’t no Micheal Jordan of rapping but he’s more of a Erving Johnson. Hating isn’t needed he’s just trying to put his self out there more.
June 2nd, 2009 at 9:22 pm
I know he wants to be the best & everything but he aint talented enough he’s creative but he’s more like the Karl Malone of rapping(just worked really hard) maybe someone can give a better comparison that’s the only ball player i can think of off the top.
June 2nd, 2009 at 9:26 pm
Btw LMAO @ “you gotta write it down dawg” thats what Rhymefest was for
June 2nd, 2009 at 9:45 pm
Kanye is the Dennis Rodman of rap. Naturally gifted, hard working, eccentric, got a few titles, insecure and crazy. Now what he becomes… who knows. He could end up being the Kareem of rap… a long, long ass great career if he keeps reinventing his role, suppressing his ego to the needs of a team, pick up new skills, supporting new talent…
